SUNYAC Future Travel Partner Change?

Re: SUNYAC Future Travel Partner Change?

I still question NYU until I hear a suggestion for where they will play... There's no way you can even dream of hosting a legitimate NCAA Hockey Program at the Sky Rink in Chelsea Piers...
They will probably play west of the GW.......In the Garden State.....we need the same debate in D3 hockey as in the NFL...right?

Re: SUNYAC Future Travel Partner Change?

Bob Emery just stated on the pre-game show.....When Canton is in SUNY, Canton will travel with Oswego and Morrisville with Canton. Take it for what its worth, but he has been around DIII for over 25 years!!

Canton with Oswego and Cortland with morrisville?
That is what he said!! They are about 115 miles apart, Plattsburgh and Potsdam are about 92 miles apart and they have been travel partners for years.

Re: SUNYAC Future Travel Partner Change?

There is a strong push from the State of New York to have SUNY schools compete against one another more often, which leads me to believe Canton will be in the SUNYAC conference. I also believe it would be an OSU/Canton pairing, as it makes the most sense. The Pots/Platts pairing also should be left alone, we need the Cards to wear out our Saturday opponent anyway.

If that were the case, then Cobbleskill, SUNYIT, Alfred State, and Morrisville for that matter, would all be full time members of SUNYAC. But, they are not...

And we haven't even mentioned the Long Island schools...

Russell, I believe I didn't make myself clear on this one. What I should've said is Canton and Potsdam have been "strongly encouraged" to compete against one another more often. My bad.

Re: SUNYAC Future Travel Partner Change?

SUNY Canton's Randy Sieminski of their Athletics Department scheduled a call to talk with the SUNYAC Commissioner, primarily about the men’s hockey team.

We need to get our feet under us before strongly pursuing any conference because our teams may “take it on the chin” at this point. SUNYAC has a bylaw that states a school must be an NCAA member for two
years before joining; Randy will ask the Commissioner if that rule will remain.
