Stampeding Cattle Through The MacInnes...MSU-Mankato at Tech, 10/15/2010

FadeToBlack&Gold

Microlot Marxist
This will be the 41st meeting between these two teams. Michigan Tech has a 13-23-4 overall record against Minnesota State and a 10-10-2 record against the Mavericks in Houghton.

Funny quote from this morning's Daily Mining Gazette:

Coach Russell said:
"It makes the game a lot easier when you don't have to try and win the game 2-1. It doesn't leave for a whole lot of margin for error."

Offense is a good thing...what a revelation on JR's part! :p ;)

Here we go...Dirk and Randy are on the radio.

They said that Russell has been keen on keeping the guys grounded this week. In fact, he didn't like it when Dirk asked him about the votes we got in the USCHO poll. ;)

Jutting feels that the Mavericks improved a lot defensively between Friday and Saturday, and could've won either game.

Plans to continue splitting his goalies.

Russell Pre-Game:

*Rix is doing a lot of little things, skates well and is physical despite less ice time
*Lickteig back in the lineup tonight, need him to continue being physical and being a good PKer
*Stebner making progress in his adjustment to the WCHA, needs to add more muscle

*One of MSU-M's strong points is their scoring defense. Youds and Davis are very talented. Need to keep them bottled up and frustrated.
*Expects a rough and tumble game, need to be more disciplined.

*Baker returning for the UW series is "optimistic" :(
*Killing him to sit and watch, but he can't be rushed back into the lineup

Cook got lucky as he was screened and the puck hit him.

Jutting giving the AR an earful for an icing call that didn't go MSU-M's way.

Tech liquor break, hooking on Olson.

Is there a link to an MTU broadcast of this game?
