St. Scholastica to the MIAC

With St. Thomas’ departure from the MIAC, St. scholastica will be replacing them as a full-time member. Makes a lot of sense given their location in Duluth.

Re: St. Scholastica to the MIAC

I think it's a much bigger deal on the women's side, more for the NCHA as their annual favorite becomes further entrenched with the departure of the 2nd best program in the conference. CSS men haven't been very relevant in the NCHA and not sure it would change for them in the MIAC.

Also makes sense because tCSS became even more geographically isolated in the NCHA after Northland moved to the WIAC.

[Speculation]
NCHA North: FU, SNC, LU, MU, CUW
NCHA South: MSOE, LFC, AU, TU, AC
[/Speculation]

Or just completely eliminate divisions because everybody plays the exact same double round robin schedule.

Or add a 22 conference game schedule where each team plays 3 games against division teams and 2 games against non-division teams.

3 x 4 = 12
2 x 5 = 10
Total = 22

Top 3 teams in each division make the playoffs.

Doesn’t leave enough non-conference games.

There’s no rule stating how many non conference games a NCHA team needs. 3 non-conference games should suffice for at-large-bids if the teams can schedule them correctly (Point, Eau Clair, or head out east).

Sure, I understand there are no rules regarding the matter. Just sayin’ most people associated with NCHA teams wish they had more than just the 5 NC games they’ve had since the Aurora and Trine expansions, not less.

Plus, historically SNC has counted on 6-8 combined wins vs Point and Eau Claire every season. Losing those opportunities and banging in the NCHA every weekend has been tough ... (there’s supposed to be a winky emoji here)
