Slu deserved t lose with the cheap play
I'll admit that slu played chippy, but ylae was no better.
False. Every check slu through was elbows first. And essery's a little pos--every faceoff he's interferring with his opponent--classless. I lost a lot of respect for the Saints tonight. Their fans are still okay, though.
See this here is what I like to call a "situation".....I watched the same game and couldn't possibly disagree more with you and LTsatch....I saw several slashes not called on Yale, Baker got mugged and slashed and nothing was called, unreal....Yale was whining all night long and it really was becoming a bit rediculous, it's been awhle since I have seen somebody actually penalized for whining so the refs must have agreed....We clearly must have been watching two different games because I saw ALOT of chippy play from Yale just the same. BUT either way it's onto game three we go.
Well, I think we could both be right. Let's try to create a timeline:
The game begins
SLU players start head-hunting with their elbows when finishing most of their checks.
Little gets tackled behind the play, gets up and looks at the ref, who was oblivious.
On SLU pp an obvious call is missed against the Saints who score their first goal afterwards.
Martin becomes enraged with the officials.
Yale starts defending themselves and playing more physically.
The refs clearly lose control of the game.
Baker gets injured.
The game ends.
I'm missing Mason's injury for sure and i'm sure lots of other stuff so fill it in. Also, I don't have Essery's headbutts, rabbit-punches and leg-sweeps on face-offs, or M. Raley's cheap shots.
Ugh, clearly you missed what my point was. I (my opinion of the situation) was that both teams were playing physical all night, with both teams having clear no-calls go for and against them. I saw some chippy play from Yale and SLU as well. You posted your opinion from a Yale fans perspective and I posted mine as an SLU fans perspective. This idea for a "timeline" (as you put it) is just trying to antagonize a debate about something that is done and over with. I for one have made my point and don't feel the need to make it again. I am hopeful that the Yale players are still debating last nights game and not focusing on the game at hand as much as their fans are, that can only help us for tonight. ON TO GAME THREE.
