Re: St. Lawrence University: Big Time, Old Time Hockey 2014-15

So: since we are locked in at #2, we will host one of the following to go to Lake Placid.

7. (Last place team out of Harvard, Yale, Dartmouth, Cornell, Colgate (all possibly 3-7))
8: Clarkson or RPI
9-11: Brown/Union/Opposite #8

Praying for Cornell, Union or RPI, personally.

I completely agree with all of the above! I too would prefer Cornell or RPI, Union as well, to some extent ... Who would have thought we would ever say that we wanted to play Union in the playoffs earlier in the season? ;) :)

This was a huge get for SLU!

From the article, "St. Lawrence landed the top '99 forward in prep school hockey on Sunday with the announcement that Cushing Academy sophomore Marc McLaughing was committing to play college hockey for Greg Carvel's program."

This is actually partially off. See the Harvard thread if really interested, they've got the whole rundown on where teams can end up position wise.

WOW! Nice pickup for the Saints!

Any idea how many years the 99's will be before they are ready to play for the Saints? Maybe 3-4 years? ... Sorry, I could probably figure this out on my own, but after this weekend my brain is mush, blahhh!

Well, minimum 2017 I'm guessing. 2 more years at Cushing or 1 and 1-2 in USHL. This program is headed in the right direction. There are now 5 guys on the line that are ridiculously good, and a number of others that are still Premier kids.

College Hockey Inc tweeted that they expect he will join the Saints for the 2018-2019 season.

So, he will join the team after everybody on this year's team has graduated. Recruiting players like him is now paying big dividends, and it's only going to get better. Something tells me that backyard bonfire to burn the '88 LSSU tape is going to happen in the next few years (might even be this April - you never know).........I will load that sucker with a gas, throw in a dislodged net as kindling wood, and light it with a (Frank) Cole-man lantern:mad:.

Re: St. Lawrence University: Big Time, Old Time Hockey 2014-15

Fun stat: we went 11-0-1 against the Ivies this year.

I wonder when the last time was that we went unbeaten against all of them.

Re: St. Lawrence University: Big Time, Old Time Hockey 2014-15

Well, we sure didn't get any help from the Beanpot games. The favorable results we would have liked to see happen were the exact opposite of what happened.

Just win this weekend, I don't think we're quite in position to really hope for other results, although some will certainly help us move in the right direction.

Re: St. Lawrence University: Big Time, Old Time Hockey 2014-15

You could be right. But then I wonder why the heck is Chip MacDonald still a ref in this league without Uncle Paul to put him on the schedule.

Perhaps the Murphies are unavailable? Not that that's a bad thing...

Can't wait to hear the replies of the SLU faithful after they read the comments about SLU in this story. Have at it Got6.

That guys is a troll and his twitter handle is "your team sucks, your program sucks and you suck". Don't waste your time. He hasn't seen any of the teams play and bases it solely on statistics. Statistically, we look like crap against Miami but it was early in the season, we are a young team and we still split and a win is a win.

Yahoo should not give people like this a voice. I agree with virtually nothing he says even bashing Garteig who has had a good season. I only agree with him on Eichel but that is pretty obvious. He has been the most dominant player in college hockey. I have one quip I will not put up here that was made by Jack Parker to Joe Marsh about Eichel that says it all.

Lambert is a troll, an ******* and a know nothing. Bob McKenzie he ain't.
