I will join in on this conversation as well. While I am never happy about UVM losing SLU is the only team that I would want to win it all if UVM loses. You guys have a great tradition and are just a great team to watch. That said I still want a UVM Sweep (we need it it for the pairwise) :D

It feels kinda strange to not have games this weekend. Hoping the week off will give us time to heal and regroup and come out strong against our rival next weekend. We need this one guys!

The way our offense is going, if you get two goals, you'll win. Heck, one goal may do it! :(

You guys always seem to play your best hockey against us regardless of how the offense or defense are doing at the time. Wish I could say the same for us over the years, but I can't. Hoping we can pull this one out next week, for several reasons!

Boys are back at it this weekend! Sure hope they're rested and ready to go! Three big games coming up before the Christmas break. Clarkson at home and then two big games against Vermont. The team is presently ranked 15th in the pairwise and RPI rankings. Would sure like to take at least two out of the next three. Think we should have beaten Quinnipiac and missed a great opportunity. Hopefully the team has gained some valuable experience and can win these types of games going forward. Hopefully the OT losses are behind us.

Marnell should be back in the lineup this weekend and Hughes next weekend. Now that the team is rested and healthy hopefully we are ready to roll. Dorehty line has been playing well but I think Ward's line has more offense to give and so does Lough's line. Can't wait for the chemistry to come together. McGovern's line has been solid and has helped offensively with some timely goals.

Defensively it's been a bit of a rollercoaster but overall I think you have to be quite pleased. Four shutouts is impressive. I really like the physicality that Martin and Purmal give us and Gluchowski and Sweetman usually make a nice first pass. Just about all of them have given us some offense as well. I'm expecting more from Bayreuther going forward which bodes well for the team. Hayton has been great and I see no reason that won't continue.

Sure missed the hockey this past weekend! Let the games begin!

Looking forward to this Saturday's game. It looks like I'll be making the trip to Appleton to take things in! Let's hope the Saints keep their A game going. These games against Clarkson are never easy.

Not gonna happen Joe (the shutout) . :( More likely SLU pitches the shutout. :rolleyes:

Marnell is back tonight, flanking the top line on the left side. Lines otherwise about what we would expect them to be.

We absolutely did and that is 100% completely unacceptable! Not only is it unacceptable against your biggest rival, but against your biggest rival at home! They need to really take some time to reexamine how important this rivalry is to St. Lawrence because clearly at this time it means way more to Clarkson and it shows! If you can't get up for this game, then you shouldn't be able to get up for any game, ever!!

Like I mentioned in October...the only results that matter are league games. As much as I was happy we tied and beat Tech earlier in the year, they got us when it counted tonight . I'm hoping we can bounce back against a good UVM team next weekend.

If SLU gives the same effort next weekend that we saw tonight, UVM will win both games by 5 goals. I agree 100% with the previous statement that these games appear to mean more to Clarkson than they do to St. Lawrence. The Clarkson guys skate harder, they work harder, and they play with more energy and confidence. Neither team was very good tonight, but Clarkson wanted it more . . . which means they deserved to win.

That was just ugly hockey and painful to watch. Since when do Clarkson games not matter. There was zero intensity in that game. The ice looked terrible. The officiating was terrible (Graber is truly awful). But even with that we still could have won. We missed Hughes, but I swear we also forgot to read the schedule to see who we were playing.

You can't not show up. Tonight is what the result will be when that happens. There was nothing about that that was fun to watch. We are a better team than that. I sure hope we learned what happens when you get completely outworked and when one team wants it a lot more than you do.

If I were coach Carvel..........I would not let the team wear any kind of jersey in practice that has an STL on it, until they prove they deserve to wear it. Tonight they did not. Like many before have already stated....we got outplayed, outworked in our barn, against our biggest rival....and, in a league game that matters. Just sad. Tonight they played like the team we thought they might be before the season started.......not like the team we have seen all this season before tonight.

We have been so pleased and surprised with the way this team has played and performed. Beyond expectations. Tonight was well below those expectations. Looks like the new top sport at SLU is Squash.
