St. Lawrence University: Big Time, Old Time Hockey 2014-15

Assuming my work schedule doesn't change, I have booked a flight to catch the @Brown/@Yale weekend in November. Is it October yet?

And, because I'm a sucker for punishment apparently, I'm parlaying that trip with a week in the woods the week prior. This, of course, happens to coincide with the Clarkson NC games Halloween weekend. So, 4 SLU games and a week searching for Bambi in the Adirondacks.

Bringing the spotlight?? :)

A bummer to see SLU assistant coach Mayotte leave the Saints to go coach at Providence:

I can't say it is a huge surprise though. He is leaving to go coach with his former college head coach.

Many thanks to Kris for his time at SLU. In his two years he logged a lot of miles on the recruitment front.

It should be interesting to see who the Saints hire to fill his shoes.

Re: St. Lawrence University: Big Time, Old Time Hockey 2014-15

As I tweeted out earlier in the week when first word of Mayotte leaving, I'd be inclined to think Sean Flanagan might be given a shot at SLU as the No. 2 assistant. Hurlbut was in Amherst for much of last few weeks at Select 15 and 16.

My money is also on a recent alum. I had someone else in mind, but Flanny would be a great choice with his Canton ties. Mayo was a road warrior and hit the USHL and BCHL hard, At least next year's class and most of 2015 are all set so the timing is not as painful as it could have been even though it is late into the summer.

Jack Lyons tweeted that Gunnar Hughes will wear the "C" this season. Doherty and Ward will don the "A".

Re: St. Lawrence University: Big Time, Old Time Hockey 2014-15

Does anyone know if Bob Prier found a new coaching job?

He doesn't want one. He has left hockey and is managing his real estate investments. The D-Bag brigade at Princeton would be enough to turn anyone off from this great sport. I am hoping and wondering Princeton will find a way to finish below 12th this year!

Saints Fans - 2016 SLU commit Taggart Corriveau will be playing in the All American Prospects Game tonight. The game will be televised on the NHL network and will be a great opportunity to see a highly regarded recruit in a very competitive atmosphere. With Corriveau, Conger, the Gicewicz brothers, etc. the Saints are in great shape for the future. They may be in rebuilding mode right now but in 2 years they will be a force (if Bayreuther stays for the full 4 years).

Follow @SLUHockeyEquip for your daily dose of SLU hockey. It's a great behind the scenes look at Saints hockey and the guy does a great job! I'm certain you'll enjoy it!

Thanks for the heads up on tonight's game. I agree with you that the Saints have some excellent recruits coming in over the next few years. Some great years lie ahead.
