From College Hockey News:

ECAC Game of the Week: St. Cloud State at Union
http://blog.collegehockeynews.com/2014/10/ecac-game-of-the-week-st-cloud-state-at-union/

Only 5 ECAC matchups this weekend as QU is off and our "Ivy" brethren are entering scrimmage/exhibition in preparation for the start of their season next week.

The non-Ivy's enter the weekend 13-10-1 in OOC games.

I hear Amsoil Yourself Arena has a ticket special for this season: buy two tickets at regular price, get the rest of your section for free.
Nope thats the Concrete Center.
And in the years we were close to that good, we had higher than that capacity of filled seats. So what is your point again, slappy?

Simply to get you going a little bit.

I was very impressed with St. Cloud. You outshot us by a lot and if I put in the shots that were blocked by us its even worse. Except for some early mistakes, its a 2-1 win for us and if our goalie did not stand on his head, we would have lost. Our coach said:

"We were sloppy, and we got lucky," Bennett said. "After our five games this year, I'm not afraid to tell you, we better wake up. This is not going to cut it if you want to keep playing. We've got to be a lot better than this." Give a lot of credit to St. Cloud for our sloppy play.

5-1? Umm, yeah.

5-1? Umm, yeah.
Just looking at the box score you can see that this was probably a much closer game than the 5-1 score would indicate.

- 3 Union goals in the first 9 minutes and then a 2-1 game from there on out.
- SCSU puts up 36 shots and only 1 goal.
- In the final 2 periods Union only managed 11 shots despite a 7-3 power play advantage in the 2nd and 3rd.

Sounds like it was a really rough start for the Huskies and a great game by Union netminder Colin Stevens. I wouldn't expect the same scoreline tonight.

Take one away from Union. If their streak goes any longer they're going to start thinking they're as good as the Gophers.
