St Cloud State @ Minnesota 1/22/10

Re: St Cloud State @ Minnesota 1/22/10

EVERYTHING that MN did right last weekend they are doing wrong tonight. Lazy passes, defensive breakdowns, whiffing shots, ignoring players streaking towards the net, not hitting anything, missing rebounds.

*ing horsesh*.

Re: St Cloud State @ Minnesota 1/22/10

Breakaway goal for SCSU. 3-0.

Yeah, this game isn't gonna end well for MN.

Who was that on defense for UMN?
He just skated alongside Roe instead of trying to knock the puck off his stick.
That was horrible.

Re: St Cloud State @ Minnesota 1/22/10

Somehow Cepis gets a penalty too? Horrible.
I thought it was pretty straightforward. Cepis took down Johnson and then Johnson retaliated.

Sheperd needs to get more control over this game. He's going to have a horrible time keeping the third period under control at the rate he's letting things go.

Re: St Cloud State @ Minnesota 1/22/10

Would not have guessed 3-0 after one.
Does Patterson start the 2nd?

Re: St Cloud State @ Minnesota 1/22/10

Nice to see Kangas can't even stop a beach ball now.

Let's see here,

Goal 1: unguarded star streaking towards the net. Easy goal.
Goal 2: two on one, easy goal.
Goal 3: breakaway. Easy goal.

Kangas has been left out to dry on ALL three goals. Christ, you're starting to sound like con1977.

It wasn't a true breakaway. They were right on Roe, locked up with him. He just did a real pretty bit of stick work to keep the puck, and then popped it into the corner of the net.

Re: St Cloud State @ Minnesota 1/22/10

At least we know now whether or not UND sucks or the Gophers magically got better.

Re: St Cloud State @ Minnesota 1/22/10

Wow..... shell shocked.... What a WALL of a goalie SCSU has..... 3-0 Gophers need..... well they need everything right now....

If you've watched Gopher hockey at all this year, I'll give you one guess who it was on defense.

Re: St Cloud State @ Minnesota 1/22/10

We want wings! Roe is awesome. Festler and lasch with two points each. Loving the game so far. Go huskies! ! From standing room next to POV and dudelove.

Re: St Cloud State @ Minnesota 1/22/10

1. SCSU -- Garrett Raboin 5 (Jared Festler, Ryan Lasch) 7:37. Festler took the puck from Lasch in the left corner, turned and found Raboin cheating in from the right point. Raboin redirected the pass between the legs of goalie Alex Kangas.
2. SCSU -- Festler 6 (Lasch, Drew LeBlanc) 16:20. LeBlanc picked off the puck at the Minnesota blue line and passed ahead to Lasch, who hit the breaks at the right of the crease before passing across. Festler whipped a shot inside the left post on Kangas.
3. SCSU -- Garrett Roe 7 (Sam Zabkowicz) 19:51. Zabkowicz hit Roe with a pass to the far blue line and Roe outskated Gophers defenseman David Fischer to the front of the net before lifting a shot into the upper left corner on Kangas.

I don't think it was so much stick work as it was body position.

That and the fact there was no real effort on the part of the MN player to knock the puck away or knock him off balance.
