St. Cloud State at Nebraska-Omaha

Re: St. Cloud State at Nebraska-Omaha

Bobby was an excellent example of a regular season goalie. That is, he did great in the regular season, and at playoff time, had arounda 6.something GAA. Much like has happened to Lee, except he hasn't been a great regular season goalie. However, he has given up enough goals in playoffs to be pulled from USA Junior championship, our last NCAA game, and gave up more goals in the USHL championship game than he did in all the previous playoff games put together. This is a disturbing pattern. Lee has been hyped too much, and has not come close to living up to it. Having said that, I would love to be wrong and actually see him take us to a national championship.

What do you consider big games? The Final 5 UW game was a playoff game. The first round of the NCAAs last year was a playoff game. He won a state championship his sophomore year of high school (don't even TELL me that doesn't count) and he played really well his junior year considering he was playing on one leg. He needs to improve for sure, but its not like every time he's played in a big game he's been a complete letdown.

Hey we are going there as well...We are on our annual college hockey trip from Rochester MN...You know it is us when you see Badger fans with Gopher fans with Sioux fans.....We are staying at the Hilton right across the street from the Qwest Center...

Stop over and say Hi....and buy us a beer :)

Our seats:
Fri, February 4, 2011, 7:37 PM Section 102, Row 5
Sat, February 5, 2011, 7:07 PM Section 103, Row 2

We're staying at the Hilton too. We're gonna be right behind the goalie (UNO's goalie in the first and third period, SCSU's in the second) Friday night and we'll actually be in 103 with you guys Saturday night, just about a dozen rows behind you.

Safe travels to you all. Hopefully UNO comes out angry and lets ya have it but who knows. Theyve been very hot and cold lately.

Final 5 championship was a big game NCAA game against Wisconsin was a big game where he got pulled after letting in 3 quick goals. USHL National Championship was a big game. Team USA vs. Canada was a big game where he was pulled after 3 goals. that's ,in my opinion, enough to be a pattern.

Having to win back to back games to get to the final five were big games, Northern Michigan was a big game. They don't get to Canada without him against the Finns or the Swedes. His Fargo team doesn't sniff the final round without him.
Are those not big because no title was directly involved?

And every single one I mentioned was a big one too. Not to mention, he and Dunn had a good thing going as a one-two combo. Both at the Final 5 Championship game and the NCAAs against UW I was hoping we'd get Dunn Saturday night, and no luck. :(

Re: St. Cloud State at Nebraska-Omaha

Hasn't basically every goalie in the history of SCSU totally biffed it in so-called "big games?"

-March 28, 2008: Jase Weslosky blows the game against Clarkson in the NCAA Tourney by giving up the flukiest bullcrap goal in known history.
-March 16, 17, 23, 2007: Bobby Goepfert loses to UND, Wisconsin, and Maine in the Final Five/Frozen Four after giving up a total of 14 goals.
-March 17 & 18, 2006: Goepfert gives up a total of 12 goals against Minnesota and UND in the Final Five.
-March 14, 15, 16, 28, 2003: Jake Moreland gives up 14 goals in a three game series against fUMD and then loses 5-2 to UNH in the NCAAs.
-March 22, 2002: Dean Weasler gives up 3 goals in the 1st period against Michigan at the Frozen Four.
-March 25, 2001: Scott Meyer gives up 2 goals in the 1st period against Michigan at the Frozen Four. He also gave up 5 in the famous game against UND at the Final Five (you know...the first of two actual important games that we won).

Do I really need to keep going further back? It's getting embarrassing. I think we should all just get a new hobby.

I could have won those games- piece of cake minor games.

A hobby other than master baiting? Could somebody lend me a hand?

Keep your fantasy on Mike Lee alive. It's like the emperor has no clothes.

Yeah, this coming from the guy who's said Dunn is the ticket to the title.
Who's living the fantasy?
If you honestly can't see that Lee gives this team the best chance to win, then
Maybe you need to take an enema for the brain.

Yes, the emperor has no clothes. I pray for your misguided soul. Scoring goals gives us the best chance to win. Mike Lee scores no goals. I rest my case.

I'd agree with all of those except Weslosky against Clarkson. He played a good game, they won when he was expecting a fastball and out of nowhere a knuckleball rainbowed over his shoulder. The team played atrocious to only score one against Clarkson, Weslosky was about the best Husky on the ice the day.

Correct!! It was Bobby that gave up the goal from the corner. he played scared taht day and cost them the game. Of course I got ripped to shreds on here for saying it was his fault.:D

No goalie scores, so if scoring is a teams best chance to win, then it shouldn't matter who's in net therefore you have no reason to complain about Lee as much as you do.
