St. Cloud State 2013-14 Season Thread: A Tough Act to Follow

Re: St. Cloud State 2013-14 Season Thread: A Tough Act to Follow

SCSU @ DU photos are now up on my website. You can view them by going to http://www.co14ersphotography.com/20...College-Hockey. I will be adding some more shots to the Friday game gallery as time allows over the weekend. Feel free to leave comments if you find errors, really like a particular photo or find one that's not up to good quality. Thanks!!

Huskies are currently 3rd in the nation in scoring, 29th in defense. We were 2nd in defense before the break. Hopefully the coaching staff's re-emphasizing of blocking shots will help the defense and Faragher will snap out of his recent funk. He looked better on Friday than he has in a while.

Anyone know anything about these Poehling brothers that committed to SCSU?

Ryan is now the youngest recruit in SCSU history... about 4.5 months younger than Oliver when he committed. He's currently the third youngest recruit in the country.

1 of 3 possible trophies in the bag.

Not exactly sure how we dropped below Wisconsin in the PWR considering we both swept, were both on the road, and CC is higher in the RPI than Penn State. In any event, I would be happier in a regional where Wisconsin or Ferris is the opposition rather than Quinnipiac or Lowell, so hopefully we can stay in the 4 or 5 spot. We are pretty firmly in the 4-6 overall seed unless we lose this Miami series or both games at the Frozen Faceoff.

What's the name of the NCHC tourney trophy?

I don't know if there is one.
I've never even seen what that trophy looks like, all I've seen is the Penrose.

Yeah that's the first time I've seen it too. Neat.

Re: St. Cloud State 2013-14 Season Thread: A Tough Act to Follow

I don't really get involved in these types of threads anymore, but I just wanted to drop in and say Congrats to the Huskies for winning the inaugural Penrose Cup. St. Cloud was the best team in the conference during the regular season, and they are a deserving champion. Winning consecutive regular season titles is not an easy feat (only done by my school twice (three times if you consider the three-peat from 1996-1997 to 1998-1999)). You should be very proud of your team and rightfully excited at their potential coming into the end of March and potentially early April. Good luck the rest of the way...unless of course they run into North Dakota.

Must be sweeps week in the Twin Cities media markets. They found St. Cloud.

Yesterday Kevin Gorg was singing the praises regarding the St. Cloud State men's hockey team on the PA morning radio show, then Dave Schwartz has a live interview with Coach Motzko at the Herb Brooks Center during the 10:30 PM newscast.
