Spartans vs. Wolverines - Playoff Edition

Re: Spartans vs. Wolverines - Playoff Edition

Exactly. Ferris cannot play Michigan on Friday

3) Ferris
4) NMU
7) Michigan

are at the Joe. The fourth team will either be 1) Miami or 8) Ohio State. Ferris will either play NMU (likely) or OSU.

And I could be wrong, but I think Ohio State just beat Miami to force a 3rd game.

I figured U-M would show up just in time for the CCHA finals. Congratulations on the win. It's going to be a brave new world for Spartan hockey.

Re: Spartans vs. Wolverines - Playoff Edition

No more sandbagging by the michigan fans, your team is really good.

We had better energy in the 1st and it was really fun scoring those 3 goals. Rowe's was wonderful. 2nd period, we looked completely out of gas. It looked like last year, us chasing UM around. It was awful. First 8 or 9 minutes of the 3rd was the same way.

Last 10 minutes of the game, we somehow figured out that Michigan isn't the only team that is allowed to win races to the puck and we actually put a lot of good pressure on Hunwick and the Michigan defense but couldn't get one to go. This is perhaps what is most frustrating, is that we had the energy to outplay michigan but didn't do it most of the game. Sour ending to an otherwise wonderful bounce back season.

Attendance was a lot better, but still not acceptable.

Just because Michigan won does not mean that us fans were sandbagging. We watched this team all season, and outside of the Thanksgiving weekend, they had not put two decent games in a row against a good team all season.

I'm sure none of us expected the team that we all thought we had back in October to wait all season to show up- I think we just thougt it was not our season.

Think about this, too- our #1 goalie got hurt over the last weekend of the regular season- now we have a walk on in net. And then a week later, our captain got hurt. How could we really expect to sweep against MSU???

Alas, and quite thankfully, the team didn't listen to us. They do care, they do want to play, and they do have a sense of urgency.

Oh- and KC- nice tv time tonight for you and the wife. :D

Due to nerves, we didn't watch much, but every time we did- you and Mrs KC were on TV. Pretty cool! Seemed like there was quite the Michigan crowd up at Munn.

Honestly, I'm surprised my voice is still intact today. I guess sucking down coughdrops all the way home actually did help :D

What a fantastic game. By far the best weekend of the season, and to be up there to witness it was amazing. After what this season has thrown at us, the feeling couldn't have been any better. I can't remember the last win that felt this good.
