Solar Eclipse: Oct 23, 2014

Re: Solar Eclipse: Oct 23, 2014

No, we know better, but you might want to remind your fan base. They do have trouble remembering their team name, after all. :p

Uh, ... there's nothing to remember so our memories are perfect.

You may now return to staring at the sun. ;)

Clouds here. Looks like a no show. Too bad, as it looked like I am in the 80% totality line.

Sun and a balmy 80 degrees here.

The only time I ever remember a significant eclipse I was in grade school. It was like you put sunglasses on. Will be cool if there is a similarly noticeable affect here.

Sun's out. Windy as all heck!

It was actually darker here before the eclipse, we had such a heavy rainstorm.

btw, I tried the pinhole in the side of a cardboard box for an earlier eclipse and it worked really well.

Re: Solar Eclipse: Oct 23, 2014

It's looking a bit like very early dusk outside right now, but my view is obstructed by the IDS Tower for the next 45 minutes. Besides that, I don't have any device for viewing the eclipse. Oh well.

If you have 2 pieces of paper and a tack, you do.

I tried to take a look when I got off work, but to no avail. The Sun was too low on the horizon for seeing it from within the city.

We had that problem in DC. By the time a sufficient portion was in eclipse, the sun was too low. Oh well -- the live observatory feed was amazing, anyway.
