Great game by RPI alum Mathias Lange in goal for Austria against Norway this morning.

Russia thinks they scored...but play continues. I'm thinking they review it. 0-0 early 3rd.

If I understand the seeding correctly, I think the USA is going to be the 3. Winner of Canada/Finland will be the 1 and loser will be the 4. Russia the 5 and Switzerland the 6. Though the Swiss play a stingy defensive style, I think this scenario is best for the US.

I think the US could still get the 2 seed. If Canada/Finland goes to OT then the winner would have 8 points too and the US would have a better goal difference. Not that it matters much, I am just glad Russia will be on the other side of the bracket.

I'd rather it be Bob Cole than Hughson, even though Bob has lost a touch lately.

I caught a bit of Sweden - Latvia yesterday. The guy calling the game sounded like a college freshman.
Landeskog --- long pause --- Alfredsson ---- more dead air ---- shot Steen. :(

Switched to Slovenia - Slovakia and enjoyed listening to British presenter Bob Ballard's call.

Agreed. That would be a crap result. Those Russians choked away the fourth seed with their lack of effort today. They are obviously still dangerous but will have to win four straight to win gold. Let Canada and Finland decide it with no extra time, but if there must be extra time let's go Finland.

I agree, I prefer a regulation win and putting all of Canada, Finland, and Russia on the other side of the bracket. It was just one of those scenarios that are not that far fetched. Russia could still get the 4 seed technically, but it would take a 6 goal blowout in the Canada/Finland game. That is a far fetched one so 5-12 look all set.
