Re: Sochi Olympics Results thread - SPOILERS

Not sure who is calling the radio feed provided by Westwood One (simulcast on XM Radio) but they're lambasting the women's officiating. Missed calls, blown calls, phantom calls. They're being fair about it and calling it awful for every game played, not just the US/CAN games.

The BBC folks are a bit complaining as well.

Can't understand why the IIHF doesn't go with two refs in the women's game. This Brit ref might be the most experienced, but she was way out of position behind the play in the CAN - SUI game and cost CAN what appeared to be a goal. The teams are too fast now for just one ref.

I have a 1 pm meeting. I wonder if they'll be suspicious if I call in from my desk. :p

Re: Sochi Olympics Results thread - SPOILERS

Darwitz essentially said the same thing this AM about what she would tell the Swedes going into the 3rd, and we see where that got them... Kiss. Of. Death.

Crease violation by Carpenter? ;)

Nice back-door play by the US. Not liking what I'm seeing.

Re: Sochi Olympics Results thread - SPOILERS

This might be the first women's hockey game that I am sitting here, at work, wishing I was watching.

Are they high? There have been no phantom calls, all legit. I can see yhr missed calls, but you could also call it "letting them play."

I think that, with these particular 2 teams, and considering what's at stake, the penalties have been obvious, clear, and not nitpicky at all. Doing a good job letting them battle, but not letting it get out of hand.

Redemption on ice, of sorts, for Russia, in women's figure skating. The big, bad, hockey team is redeemed by a teenage girl.

Re: Sochi Olympics Results thread - SPOILERS

US absolutely fierce in the D-zone.

Tick...tick...tick...tick... :(

Re: Sochi Olympics Results thread - SPOILERS

I guess more people have logged in to watch as my stream is buffering a lot more than at the start.

Re: Sochi Olympics Results thread - SPOILERS

Lipinski and Weir are good commentators during the figure skating but a little too much jewelry and a fur coat on a fishing trip cracks me up on Weir. He must be the Liberace of figure skating )

US up 2-0 on Canada with only 4:30 left
