SNC Off Season Thread

Re: SNC Off Season Thread

SNC knows that they have the best financial aid packages and they know that can lie in the weeds and get who they want to get.

They have to have these great academic awards in place to comepete with the UWS and UWRF and rest of the NCHA, that are very low in cost.

I know everyone on here thinks this is just absurd, but it is the truth. SNC has found the loop holes and figured a way around the system. I guess the more I look at it, more power to them.

They system is flawed, not SNC and Norwich and Middleburry, I love the idea of a FA cap, but that won't happen. The rest of the country needs to find away to use the loop holes to their advantage and join the other power houses of college hockey.

I would suggest that it is a very easy solution to your problem. Get your check book out and write a really big check every year to the school(s) of your choice. Then your school(s) of choice would have more money to offer it's students and athleties(sp?). That's what I do, although not really big checks, for SNC, GAC, UH and even UW Inferior mens Soccer. So put up or shut up.

Any word on the Point job in regards to Coach Aiken?

I wonder what direction SNC will go in to replace him? He is a big asset to SNC hockey. I suppose Mazz will step into a full time role?

From a purely selfish position, I am happy as hell that AJ did not get the position at Point. He is an outstanding recruiter and an even better individual. SNC is very lucky to have him. Congrats to Brooks on the Point job.

Re: SNC Off Season Thread

An interesting question on the captains for next year. Next year's senior class is very small. Soley came in last offseason and the only 2 4-year guys are Ryd and Joanette. Keefer and Stroh are a couple of their top performers who will be juniors. Maybe they could be in the mix as well. A guy I'll keep an eye on for a letter in the future is Hoogenboom.

Im sure there will be two more captains announced at the beginning of the year but here are my predictions/votes:
Captain: Ryd (already announced)
Assistant: Keefer - Great clutch player, respected by teammates, good in both ends , and a good player to look at as a "quarterback" of the team.
Assistant: Donohue- Works extremely hard on and off the ice, plays a role on the ice that many players don't want to, respected by teammates, extremely solid in his own end, and willing to sacrifice the body.

Re: SNC Off Season Thread

Any other recruits than what we know already? Dougherty, Baptista, Jacobson, Higgins, Brown and who else....?
