SNC 2012-13 Regular Season Thread

Re: SNC 2012-13 Regular Season Thread

Jerry --
Where does he live? Does he get to any of the games?

In Vermont.... about 30 miles from me. He did live in ALabama, and I have seen the Pack play the Titans quite a while ago, and we just saw the Pack at the new Giants Stadium (which was not very satisfying for him).
He wants to get to a game at Lambeau, not that I point out I have been to the field :) and he hasn;t!

Plenty of changes @ Lambeau in recent years: new scoreboards, new sound system, adding 7000 seats for next season with two new entrance gates.
Talk now is that the Atrium will be expanded to move Curly's Pub to the first level...may move the Hall of Fame to east of the current Atrium...

It was Dec 2000 when I visited. Wow, that seems like forever ago.....

I suspect my son will make a trip out in the next year or two. His kids will be in middle school in two, which makes things a LITTLE less hectic at home( although with 4, is it ever NOT hectoc?)

Re: SNC 2012-13 Regular Season Thread

After wondering why the heck St. Marys coach allowed his goalie to stay in and get hammered for 12 goals I tried to remember the last 12 goal outburst I'd seen and I couldn't come up with one so I looked it up. As good as this program has been I don't know that they've made a habit of putting up obscene offensive numbers. The last double-digit output I found was 11 goals on Nov. 11, 2005...ironically also against St. Marys. The last outburst of a dozen or more was 14 against Marian going all the way back to Jan. 2, 1999. The prior game wasn't bad either with 12 goals against St. Scholastica on Dec. 12, 1998. Hard to believe it was a 1-1 relatively evenly played game only seconds into the 2nd period. It was hilarious to see goals pile up so quickly in that 7 goal 2nd period that Dan Lukes was behind on his goal announcements by 4 goals as the teams skated off the ice.

Every stoppage that last five minutes was another goal. It was quite a barrage.

Four goals in the last 4 1/2 minutes....total of seven goals on just 12 shots in the period.
Still can't understand why the St Marys coach left the starting goalie in the game after the 2nd period.

Check their team stats for the numbers of the backups.

Felt terrible for the young man. I don't care how bad the backups are. Have a heart.

One side thought, I don't think last night's margin of victory was completely accidental. No regular season win should cause a celebration so wild you can't shake hands. St. Marys, you know you had this one coming.

Re: SNC 2012-13 Regular Season Thread

Can anyone at the game last night post how many people were actually in the stands last night? At Point, there was over 100 actually in the stands, which is much more than I thought would have shown up.

SNC SID gave you the answer, and where to find it. There were ZERO backups dressed for the game. It was this guy, or no one.

You can't have one goaltender dressed for a game. You must have a minimum of two. SMU had three dressed. The scoresheet Stat Crew generates only lists who played, the collegehockeystats.net box score shows who also dressed.

I stand corrected.:o

During intermission of today's game, Tim mentioned SNC will not be going to UWS next year.

So, how many conference games will there be next year? Who else is set as non-conf games?

I heard that we will play every other MCHA team twice.
Non Conf games, I heard so far, are opener with Lawrence and two at the Oswego Tourney.
Point is also a possibility.
