Rocking 'The Stone'
The Green Knights kick off the defense of their second National Championship this week with their team scrimmage on Saturday/Oct. 22 @ 1:00 at the CCC.
Will be very interesting to see which of the 11 new faces can work their way into the starting lineup.

Pete

Nice article. I assume that you will be in Milwaukee for the opener. I will not be there as I am in Atlanta and then will be in Raleigh and Louisville the remainder of the week. I may make it to Point on Friday night if I have any energy left. Please report what you find.

Thanks,

TBB
Yes I will be at the opener.
See you at Point.

Re: SNC 2011-12 Regular Season Thread

The upper lobby area @ the CCC is being remodeled to honor the SNC teams that have participated in Frozen Fours over the years.
Each year is getting its own display, which feature team photos, news reports, team roster and game results from each season.
The two Ntl Championship years are grouped together by the main entrance to the ice arena.
I must say that the displays look awesome!!
The new NCHA and NCAA banners are up inside the arena. Redone by year.
The banner raising for the 2011 Ntl Championship is scheduled for this Sat. nite prior to the game with Point.
Bring your cameras!!

Re: SNC 2011-12 Regular Season Thread

So, Mike Martin hasn't dressed for either of the first two games. Is he injured, or have the two new guys simply out played him so far?

I would say the other two have outplayed him. Martin did not look good at all in the intra-scrimmage.

From what I have seen in practice, Bosch and Jacobson are definately ahead of Martin.

Hey did you go to watch the game last night against Stevens Point? Just wondered if Knights played poorly or if Pointers played well or a little combination of both? It is just one game and it is the their opener so no one should panic, it is how it ends not how it starts anyway. Just curious about if SP new coach game plan experience is advantage for them , not a put down og Coghlin and his experience at all.

They were out played by the Pointers. It was pretty close, but the Pointers won the battles as well as took advantage of mistakes better.

Agreed, Point took advantage of several SNC defensive turnovers at the blueline.
Also, made the most of their other scoring chances.
SNC had their opportunites, especially in the 2nd period, but could only manage the one PP goal.

Re: SNC 2011-12 Regular Season Thread

Pretty good effort tonight. I really like the 12 forwards they can run out there and that is without Perry right now. The depth on defense will be the question I have. Didn't look too bad tonight even without McDonald. They played plenty physical tonight which from what I heard wasn't necessarily the case on Friday.

Re: SNC 2011-12 Regular Season Thread

On Friday night #24 held up the physical part of the game but on Saturday it seemed they all brought it.

Donahue had some nice hits last night. He's definitely the early leader for most improved player. Seems like he hit the weight room hard in the off season and is out to prove himself this year. He'll add some nice energy to the third or fourth line.

Boy were Knights a different team last night compared to 1st game. Much better movement and puck control. I got to say I thought Pointers didn`t play as well eithe. Justin F really needs to control his kneee jerk reactions, his game misconduct was preventable. Now you loose a player for a game, have to show more maturity and self control in the future.

Favreau had a game misconduct, not a game DQ. Even if he had to sit it wouldn't be such a bad thing. 1. Next game is a NC game and 2. It would give Cogs a reason work out some different D pairings.

Most likely my last post ever on this DIII board. Enjoy.
