Maybe I am getting old-but i cannot recall the last time they talked about a goal and we got the call?

Against Niagara this season. October 23rd. AAG "scored" the first goal of the game. Ruled a goal on the ice, reviewed, and upheld (even though I still didn't see the puck cross the line).

Thanks B12-I knew it happened but could not recall the game. Normally these calls do not go for us.

While it's tough to know what was said between the goal judge and on-ice officials from just a camera shot, based on the goal judge's hand motions, and what I saw in the RPI TV replays, my guess is that he was explaining that there were two separate SOGs (at least that's how it appeared to me on the video feed). The first was a clear no goal as the ref signalled; the follow up shot, however, clearly went in the net and it didn't look like the referee was watching the goal line or net when the puck went in the net on that second shot. I suspect that was the explanation that resulted in the correct decision to overturn the original on-ice no-goal call. As a note, it may be more accurate to say that there was no on-ice call by the referee on the second shot to overturn --- he may have fully missed that shot/goal.

Worth noting, it's the same ref who missed the blatant trip on Chase. From the video feed, it looked like he had a clear view of the trip. I'd stop short of saying he missed the goal and penalty intentionally ... he might have been distracted or looking at something else occuring on ice.

Oh, one more thing: fantastic job to RPI TV on having all of those camera angles!
