Re: Slu@rpi 1/27/12

Here's hoping we can put forth the effort we began to show last weekend. Come out strong and prepared early-get a lead and hold it. There are no easy games in the ECAC this year. We have 10 games left to salvage the season. Go Red!!

Re: Slu@rpi 1/27/12

What's 7-11? New York State doesn't have that. ;):p aside from maybe 1 in Rochester and 2 in Buffalo

IIRC, my brother told me that he has seen some on Long Island. If there are none in the CD, then how can one get a Slurpee? :D Not that it is a big loss.

They sell frozen high-fructose-corn-syrupy beverages at some Cumberland Farms locations. I'll pick one up if I'm driving home after a game.

Re: Slu@rpi 1/27/12

The nearest 7-11 to Troy appears to be in Adams, MA.

New York State is deprived of many "well-known" chains. Until I took a business trip to Virginia about a year ago, I didn't even know that "Waffle House" was a well-known chain! I thought it may have been a local breakfast diner at a specific location (can't remember where). Also, it wasn't until then that I understood my aunt's jokes about "The Flying J". Some people were appalled that I had never heard of Chick-Fil-A, yet another thing we don't have here (only one is at NYU).

And yet, somehow, I don't feel deprived. :)

I've seen Waffle Houses and Chick-Fil-As, but the Flying J is a new one on me.

In case I make a trip to Virginia some day, what is it?

Most of "The Flying J" locations I saw were in Pennsylvania along I-81 (since I drove down there). It is a convenience store with gasoline; I would liken it to Stewart's or Sheetz (though not as nice, I've heard of Sheetz before in my travels down that way).

Re: Slu@rpi 1/27/12

I never heard of Flying J. I do remember Flying A gas stations. :)

Chik-Fil-A is quite good, but it isn't open on on Sundays for religious reasons.

Re: Slu@rpi 1/27/12

officials for the weekend's games....OFFICIALS: The referees for Friday night are Harry Dumas and Tom Steinel, Jr. ... The linesmen are Ryan Knapp and Dan Taggart ... Saturday’s officials are Cameron Lynch and Chip McDonald (referees) and Leo Boylan and David Brown (linesmen). http://www.rpiathletics.com/documents/2012/1/25/2011-12MHKYGameNotes_SLU_CLK.pdf?id=1193

Steinel and Lynch are unfamiliar names to me. Must be new this year.

Dumas(s) is hit or miss, while Chip McDonald is fair.
