Signs of the Apocalypse

Re: Signs of the Apocalypse

You gotta cheer for someone still in it. You might as well cheer for the Bruins as they have your first round pick.

Actually we're all still good. Mostly Wings fans in our house. My team's been the Bruins since I was 8. However, the Black Sheep happens to be a Habs fan. :(

No Burdick's treats for that individual.

Re: Signs of the Apocalypse

#4 Bobby Orr was tripped prior to "The Goal" by Blues defenseman Noel Picard....who also wore #4.

Curiously, the number 4 figures prominently in other facts surrounding The Goal:

• Bobby Orr was in his 4th NHL season
• Bobby Orr captured 4 major trophies that year (Norris, Hart, Art Ross, Conn Smythe)
• Bobby Orr became the 4th non-goalie to win the Conn Smythe that year (after Jean Beliveau, Serge Savard and Dave Keon)
• Blues lost in overtime for the 4th time in the playoffs
• Blues would have enjoyed a 4-on-1 odd-man rush the other way had Orr coughed up the puck while pinching
• Goal was scored in Period 4 (overtime)
• Goal was scored 40 seconds into overtime
• Goal was Orr’s 4th of the playoffs
• Final score: 4-3
• Bruins took the series in a 4-game sweep
• Bruins won their 4th Stanley Cup (1929, 1939 and 1941)
• Bruins won their first Stanley Cup since 1941
• Bruins won 40 games during the regular season
Counting the answer to the trivia question, Trillium just shared fourteen bullets!

Re: Signs of the Apocalypse

LOL. Very clever. As will they all be setting up foursomes on the links. But first, with any luck they will dispatch the Flyers in four straight.

Ha! Ya...four sure they will.

There might be 400 minutes in penalties before she's over.

Re: Signs of the Apocalypse

I'm surprised the guy survived prison. Can't believe they would pardon the guy. Just what the hell were they thinking? Judge must've been a diddler himself.

No kidding hey? We've been assured by our goverment that it was an oversight and the laws are being amended to prevent any further emabarrassment.

How about the Spanish Nat'l team hiring the guy full well knowing about his past criminal record? I mean we look stupid but the Spaniards well...that's really dumb!

Ahhh Full circle to my earlier comments about lots of Yap and little Action.......At any rate, when this news hit the wires, the gloves came off on the hill, and the public was outraged....and guess what...It resulted in some much needed corrective Action.....

Re: Signs of the Apocalypse

Hey 5 4...speaking of the Apocalypse, I saw pictures on the news last night showing the SNOWSTORM in Calgary! Are you still getting in a little ice fishing?

No wonder Torontonians can't cope with living there.
Here in Toronto, all the leaves are on the trees, the flowers are in full bloom, and sightings of flip flops and tank tops have been quite common for the past month. It's 24 degrees today (that's 75 in American) :p

Yes it did look apocalyptic here in the Cowtown and L.A. (Lethbridge, Alberta) the past few days...high winds and plenty of snow reeked havoc...again. Were a hardy bunch however. Water off a ducks back... so to speak. The bright side is this late April storm will extend spring skiing in the Rockies until at least June now. Yahoo!

We have long known that Torontonians can't handle our weather out here and that's why we are thankful that these freak storms come along every once in a while to drive the heathen's back to their 416 area codes. :)

Ski! Ha! 5-4, you rarely get out of the chair. Except for one thing. ;)

Re: Signs of the Apocalypse

Hey 5 4 Fighting! Did you know there is a band after that name? My daughter played some of his music for me and it's pretty good. I checked out his website and it seems he is a Kings fan (poor guy!)
