Showdown in the Capital District (RPI @ UC 1/15/10)

Re: Showdown in the Capital District (RPI @ UC 1/15/10)

* After 119 games, the nightmare is over in Schenectady as Union defeats Brown 3-0, snapping 6-year ECAC record of 0-115-4.
* Useless fact of the night: Union men are 1-0-0 all time on the same day the Union women earn an ECAC victory (3-2 in OT vs. Princeton, 2/28/04).

Just two of the many quality tweets you can get by following Without A Peer on Twitter - live tweets for all games involving the men and women from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

I'm sure the coaches have addressed it just as they have our 5-4 PK, and although I don't want to see the effects tonight, in case we have to, I hope they're ready for it.

But, from the looks of how we've been playing as of late, we're not giving the refs too much of a chance to make that marginal call unless it's warranted (like in the case of trying to stop a breakaway from happening), with some exception of course. If there's anything we've really done, is that we've continued to play aggressively even if the calls aren't going our way. In years past we've seemed to become more tentative just to avoid the penalty. That's what I like to see. Aggressiveness, but not too much as to just play almost an entire period shorthanded.

Normally I would agree with all of that-but tonight we have the Murphy x 2 situation. They are capable of calling some incredibly strange things. As I had said before, I just want this game to be played in such a way that we don't notice who the refs are.

Change of plans at the last minute means I'll be watching the game on TW3 instead of DVR'ing it. I should be there live though, c'est la vie.

Doesn't matter if it's Murphy, Kotyra, Baker, even Thul..... don't give them the thought of possibly calling it, and they won't.

Pregame music! And, I think I've found the perfect beer for these games: Leinenkugel's Red Lager.

Ahhh, Fridge. I saw him today as we were both in the auto shop today. I hope he got to Union ok. :)

That ugly Edmonton goal horn...... go ahead and blast it a long time when the team comes out, hopefully it'll blow out. :D

My mom used to babysit Marisa Jacques and I was a small kid. Apparantly, we slept together.
