Re: SCSU at Denver - Saturday 1/11/14

Saint Cloud is now 9-0-0 on the road this season and has outscored its opponents 43-16 in those nine contests. That's a goal differential of 27 goals in nine contests, an average of three goals a game, exactly the margin by which the Huskies won last night. Friday's game began a stretch in which four of Denver next eight games matched them against the Huskies while another two games sees Denver playing NoDak. This is easily Denver's most challenging portion of the regular season schedule. While I am uncomfortable with Denver's chance to win any game in which Sam Brittain does not start, it might send the proverbial "message" to the team if Jim Montgfomery starts Evan Cowley tonight.

I also anticipate Brittain will get one night off next weekend in Duluth. After that I think Brittain will start every game until Denver either clinches home ice or loses it for the playoffs. My $.02.

Monty goes right back to Sammy. SCSU has their Frosh goalie in.

Just spotted Boone on the back of Sammy's mask. Interesting that earlier this year Cowley was not allowed to have him on his mask.

It's too easy for Saint Cloud's goalie to see Denver's shots. The Pioneers need to generate more traffic in front of him. Somebody call Chris Christie.

Re: SCSU at Denver - Saturday 1/11/14

9:08 tripping on SCSU. Makowski scores right off the faceoff. 2-0 DU. PPG

Peg will be on that. As Rumpole used to say of his wife: "she who must be obeyed."
