At this point the FBI is going to play CYA, and we'll see them conduct a cursory investigation to show Beery McGrabby didn't do anything that could be proved by them. The whole thing will be blown over and ignored by the GOP voters come November next year, and there will be no need to replace a justice.

He can be impeached. He lied to the committee. The only reason he's on the Court for life is because he has the corrupt party that everyone votes for (bsabsvr) running interference for him. It's the same reason Trump is still in office.
The longer this goes on the more I realize how much better the Republicans play victim. And how much better they go after what they want.

He can...but they are going to need either the FBI to stop collaborating or tangible evidence. This story is not going to be enough. Lets hope it is the catalyst though to spark a torrent of the truth coming out.

Since we allowed Barr to be confirmed (Sessions was bad but had a little bit of regard for the Institution at least) the DOJ, FBI, and all the district offices are entirely under Trump's control. This is no longer the 70's and Nixon. We now have the criminals with complete control, a complicit media apparatus, and a complicit political party in power.
Nothing can move the needle.
Even good reporting (the fifth estate, our last refuge) no longer works because 1/2 the population doesn't believe in facts.

The Press used to be important. Remember Watergate? They used to do things. Now, they suck. And they're directly responsible for Trump and Kavanaugh not being impeached.

No Scooby, I don't remember Watergate as I was too busy being born around that time (see - it wasn't ALL bad back then!) But, its nice that liberals are finally starting to realize that the press isn't their friend, only about 40 years too late!

I think it would be more accurate to say the Press used to be trusted. The insane competition caused by the 24/7 news cycle and our constant need to be entertained have led to less diligent fact checking, for sure. But a LOT of pure fantasy was doled out in "those days." There were the Jack Andersons of their day, but there were also a lot of reporters feeding consumers the fairy tale version of America.
