You got the wrong guy. I don't even send food back when my order is screwed up.

I hate the ceo of Home Depot but I don’t take It out on his employees.
You agree to answer a politicians phones, particularly one who loves to screw over anyone who isn’t rich, you can’t conplain about getting angry phone calls. I think most normal people can understand this

Yeah, the clerical staff who need a job to live should be screamed at

It's literally the job they signed up for. Do you think they didn't understand this could happen? If they don't feel they are being adequately compensated for their troubles they could ask for a raise or quit. Kind of like anyone else that doesn't like their job.

Re: SCOTUS 10: Pack the Court!

Very libertarian concept that should be applied to every job. Trump grabs your *****, quit and move on.

Or, people could call Collins office and make their point without being *******s. Im confident they are used to irate callers but apparently they have upped the abuse to extreme levels. But whatever, just quit

It would be great if the callers were nicer, but don't act like these are all minimum wage folks doing what they can to survive. These offices are filled with associates and interns who either support the politician, support their ideals, or are looking to start their own political career. It doesn't parallel the Comcast service rep or Walmart cashier in the slightest.

Re: SCOTUS 10: Pack the Court!

No cite has been provided about the volume of rude calls, AFAIK, but is there any suggestion that they are not Mainers?

And I understand why you would say people should grow up and act like adults, Walrus, but are you really equating political staffers receiving rude calls with victims of Trump's sexual assaults?

Re: SCOTUS 10: Pack the Court!

how do we even know she's really getting that many rude calls? There are political reasons to state that publicly, but it doesn't mean it's necessarily true.

This is the hill you want to die on? Really? I'd take their job in a heartbeat for the same pay if it meant I didn't have to put up with what I put up with every day. Every job has stressers.

Of course he did, conservatives have no arguments that don't involve false equivalencies.

It's not like "rude" has really been defined either. We all know how they have a martyrdom complex.

Re: SCOTUS 10: Pack the Court!

As long as she gets you potatuh fawmers subsidized every year, and waves at you in the checkout line, I'm sure you'll keep voting for her. :p

If they're smart they will.

Does anyone here really think that the people of West Virginia benefited from whatever votes Senator Byrd made on Supreme Court nominees or social issues like abortion?

Seniority. That's the only thing that matters, and if the people of a state decide to throw out a long time Senator because of his or her vote on a Supreme Court nominee, well, that's good for the rest of us, but those people are stupid.

You benefit by your Senator gaining seniority and bringing the money back to the State. That's what it's all about. That's what constitutes about 99% of the real work of Congress, not all this window dressing stuff like the Kavanaugh nomination. I can put up with a lot of bs votes on things like judicial nominees before I'll throw out a Senator with seniority.

Re: SCOTUS 10: Pack the Court!

Uh if you dont agree with their vote on the SC Justice your ****ed right you should vote them out. This isnt some small time appointment. You dont just ignore that so you can get pork sent your way. That pretty much goes against the entire idea of voting and is exactly why Congress is worthless.

What a bizarre take.

Re: SCOTUS 10: Pack the Court!

How is a judicial nomination BS? They're 1/9 of a branch of the government. Literally hold 3% of governmental power. The only person who holds more is the president.

It's not a bizarre take. What's bizarre is how absolutely wrapped up you guys get over things like this nominee.

Even the most polar opposite Supreme Court justices vote with each other what, half the time, two thirds the time? That's because the large volume of the work of the court is deciding cases on admiralty law and variety of other arcane subjects. But you guys get all wrapped up in the media frenzy cases, most of which have literally no impact on you personally.

Yet, if your Senator can keep your airbase from closing he or she can save thousands of jobs in a city or a state, not only with the base but with all of the jobs created by it.

Some states, primarily the more rural and financially challenged states, figured this out long ago. Fortunately for us, the rest of you haven't.

Women, gay, and civil rights are most certainly something to get into a frenzy about. People are more important than money, even if they aren't white males.

This isn't even getting into the ethical questions about this guy and the whole spying thing he was a part of, the buying $200,000 worth of sports tickets which doesn't exactly scream good judgement, anti-labor views, etc. Yeah, the democrats should oppose this guy and ensure that Susan Collins or whoever can't weasel their way out of voting for this guy and make their reelection easier.
