Scores weekend of 9/30

Re: Scores weekend of 9/30

Ohio State scores twice in first 2 minutes and leads RPI 3-0 after first period.

Re: Scores weekend of 9/30

Lots of penalties being called in this one so far. I'm glad Penn State didn't choose to start their season with a cupcake team, though - I'm all for the freshmen getting tossed right into the D-1 fire from the start.

Re: Scores weekend of 9/30

Clarkson beats Penn State 4-2, which isn't as bad as things looked after one period. 21 penalties called in this game. Penn State is young, but there's a lot to work with, once the younger players settle into D-1 hockey. Not a bad showing against the #5 team in the country.

Re: Scores weekend of 9/30

Clarkson beats Penn State 4-2 in a penalty filled game.
The referees must have gotten new whistles they wanted to try out.

Re: Scores weekend of 9/30

MN 3-0 over Lindenwood. I was surprised had the tenacity of the Lions defense and also their speed. They only managed 10 SOG and only a couple were really dangerous but the did a good job of stifling the Gophers.

Gonna be a loooooooonnnnng year for RIT. Their only hope lies in that they are in the weakest conference in D1 women's hockey.

Re: Scores weekend of 9/30

Clarkson beats Penn State 2-1, but Penn State looked a lot better than they did yesterday. It was good to see all those freshmen not play scared, and go right in and battle for pucks.

Re: Scores weekend of 9/30

Not a big deal is it?! Did you not expect them to win both games? I think most people would have called this series in advance.

From Women's D1 Picks: Sept 29

"Ohio State at Rensselaer
Candace: Both teams lost some to graduation, and the Buckeyes have a new coach to boot. I see a split. Rensselaer 2-1, Ohio State 2-1
Nicole: It’s been a quick transition for the Buckeyes and they’ve got a lot to figure out, so I’m picking RPI at home in a low scoring affair. Rensselaer 1-0, 1-0"

A slight deviation from what "most people" would have called this series in advance".
