Funny piece, but did you think I was referring to Richard III?

My bad. I was thinking Equus.

I didn't see it mentioned, but what do you donwith the easte/by product?

What do they do with it in the reverse osmosis procedure? Have to think it's similar...

Sell it as sea salt for $8/lb. ;)

But seriously, with reverse osmosis, it creates a "waste" product that has to be remixed before it can be discharged back into the ocean. If you just dump the leftovers back in straight away, that highly concentrated saline byproduct could kill marine life.

Could it be sent to the Midwest for road salt when mixed with sand, or left as is for brine? I know here in Chicagoland that pre-treating the streets with brine is becoming popular, and some parts of Wisconsin are using cheese or beet brine to treat their streets.

It is possible we could reach another star in my lifetime.

Dear humanity: please put away all the weapons and ape stuff and put all that money, research, talent, and energy into this until it's accomplished. Please. For me. You can slaughter each other again the second it's done.

you have to crack the speed of light barrier without offending Einstein and the other gods of physics.

The solution is out there, the math just eludes us right now.

Einstein is local to *something*, just like Newton was, just like Galileo was, just like Aristotle was, ... If you don't like the rules just find the larger frame.

But for the microprobes we don't even have to crack FTL. We just need to focus light tight enough to push a chip big enough for useful sh-t up to light speed and then, um, figure out how to decelerate it on the other side (not really clear how we're gonna do that).

Parachutes. Clearly, they're the only answer.

At the halfway point start broadcasting it Mets games.

Elon Musk's Hyperloop found to be just hype.

Yes, for those keeping score, in a mere two years we’ve gone from a futuristic vision of electric skates zooming around a variety of vehicles in a network of underground tunnels to—and I cannot stress this enough—a very small, paved tunnel that can fit one (1) car.

Weird. My phone just switched to 5GE.

That was unexpected. It’s.....FAST. There isn’t even a lag clicking on a link. Jeebus.

What phone do you have that you get 5G?

iPhone 8. But only in a very small area within Minneapolis. Haven’t done much exploring but I don’t get it 20 miles east. Which is to be expected given the infrastructure/technology requirements.

On at&t. It says 5G with a small capital E after it.

Oh, so it's pretend 5G...

Lol. This is why we should fire all markerters out of a cannon into the sun. Marketing is just a study of how much can someone lie without breaking the law. This kind of sh-t should be illegal.
