Re: Saturday Jan 23. Scores - First ever DIII tilt at the Xcel Energy Center
In MASCAC news:
Worcester State beat UMass-Dartmouth 3-2.
The wheels have fallen off the wagon for the Corsairs. 5-10-1 this season, on a five game losing streak, and tied for last place in the conference (with 1-12-2 Framingham State, the only team UMD has beaten in conference play this season). With loss #10, this is the most losses that UMD has ever gotten under coach John Rolli. Four more losses, and they'll set an all-time school record. (team history here) .
Also, this eliminates another person in the MASCAC LPS. If Westfield doesn't beat Fitchburg, then everyone will be knocked out.
Re: Saturday Jan 23. Scores - First ever DIII tilt at the Xcel Energy Center
Another incredible game at Kreitzberg this afternoon, Trinity came to play and had the Cadet fans worried for the first two periods as they tied the game twice. No shut out for Klinger, but he made some amazing saves to keep the Cadets in the game. 2 of the 4 he let in, were breakaways with only 1 defense man back to help. Passing in the defensive zone and penalties were again an issue, but Norwich never gave up and ended the game with a 7-4 win. Man, this team can finish. I was very impressed with the depth of the bench. Three leading scorers were out with injuries, Scott Schroeder, Tory Allen (same #1 line) and Emmond Bell (third leading scorer). However, Mark Collins (2nd well played game in a row and his first goal of the season), Matt McCann and Pasha Kozhokin played very well and hustled non stop. I have decided to add to my all time favorite players list... Kyle Thomas and Colin Mulvey are incredible, they are every where and create super scoring possibilities. Trinity played very well and very hard, I hope #23 Houli is okay and playing again soon. It wasn't the prettiest game I have seen the Cadets play but they fought back and didn't give up. I am sure McShane will have a lessons learned speech from tonight. 14-0-3 is wonderful guys, rest up over the week, there are some more tough away games over the next few weeks. Thanks for a very entertaining weekend.
