That is what I am using, but are you sure that we are playing on that day, a Saturday? We don't always play preseason games on Saturday.

I have no clue. We've been releasing later and later. The coach didn't show up for the alumni get-together at Cornell, either.

Really wish the ECAC would go back to top 8 teams make playoffs only. How much $ do you really think they make off of these opening round series?

I have been banging this drum for some time. Putting all teams in the playoffs makes a mockery of the regular season games and probably reduces attendance at those games.

I've always thought it would be great for a team to pretty much tank a season, finish last then win the tournament. Really show it doesn't matter what you do in regular season.

Re: RPI @ Yale, Saturday night, game 2 of 3...

How much more valuable would the rights to regular season games be if those games meant something, 'though?

Much less, seeing how the respective schools technically own those rights. Except most gave it away to the league.

Is the title for the offseason thread going to be "Shot Wide"

One of the reasons I follow the women's games more closely is that those games really matter, and it is always a nail-biter whether the team will make the playoffs. With the men's team, sure it matters a bit whether they finish 7th or 8th vs 9th or 10th, but not enough to make games late in the season seem all that important.

If we do that, you can be assured they change the rules. After all, they change whenever we have success. The first round used to be one game, until a #1 seed lost to RPI...
