RPI @ Yale, Saturday, 1/30/16

Re: RPI @ Yale, Saturday, 1/30/16

We finally got a bit of help with other games falling our way last night. If our luck continues, and the Engineer cheering section falls the way WaP listed tonight, it appears we can move as high as 10th in the PWR.

Re: RPI @ Yale, Saturday, 1/30/16

I remember a few years back where the COP used to be measured based on the total games and not averaged per opponent. They changed it sometime in the late 90s I think and the logic was that if team A beat team C in one game, but team B beat team C in two games, then it was unfairly giving the advantage to team B. This would happen frequently when Team B and Team C were in the same conference and hence playing more games against each other. If Team C was really weak, then team B had the advantage of beating up on them and padding up the COP. Team A being in the other conference would typically only play them once and could not improve on that statistic.

Re: RPI @ Yale, Saturday, 1/30/16

You can look at the COp two ways: One is the way that has been described, and the second is that if you have a particular opponent in common where you have the unfortunate distinction of playing them in league games (i.e. at least twice), and the team with which you're being compared happens to get lucky and win a NC game, just the fact of playing that one team multiple times, and losing to them multiple times because you just don't happen to match up well against them, can screw with the rest of your COp. Why should one team weigh heavily more vs. all of the others?

Two dozen posts already. Seems there are a few people who are anxious to see this game get underway. :)

3rd goal; Devito gets the assist instead of Schroeder........ 4th goal; Schroeder gets the assist instead of Praps.

Re: RPI @ Yale, Saturday, 1/30/16

Assuming everyone from last night is healthy, do you keep the lines the same? Do you change things up a bit or do you sit anyone for a different healthy body (if we have any)??

Re: RPI @ Yale, Saturday, 1/30/16

In the women's game at HFH, after 2 periods vs Cornell it is 1-1. These two teams are tied for the eighth and final playoff spot in the ECAC, so needless to say this next period might be the biggest of the year for the Engineers.

Headed to OT.

Great play by Wash to knock the puck out of the air inside the blue line then put it on Rooney's stick.

I have noticed, and why wouldn't I, that over the years we have some very nice looking young ladies play hockey at RPI and this becomes more obvious each year. I can tell you with complete confidence that had nothing like that back in the days when I was there. (But we did have electricity and indoor plumbing by then).

i can tell you she still has it together and still has a wee bit of a temper. Seriously though, I have looked at other rosters and we do seem to be getting a fairly large number of talented players who are also quite attractive. But then again, I am getting older and my eyes are not what they used to be.
