RPI @ WMU, Saturday, February 8, 2020

Re: RPI @ WMU, Saturday, February 8, 2020

This one has a chance to become quite ugly. For those who advocated strongly that Savory needed to be in net to "keep sharp", I hope this kind of game does not make him question his own confidence. Just not the kind of game i felt he was needed for. Now it is 4-1 and this could get a lot worse.

I thought they are called Michiganders.

Last time I made a suggestion that RPI should start a particular goalie in a game, Red Cloud about tore my head off.

I thought, after all this time, perhaps I could make another such suggestion.

Never again. :(

Nah -everyone is entitled to an opinion. But decisions always have consequences. I just saw this as a no win situation. I was hoping they kept Savory out so that the last 6 ECAC games all those teams had him in their head a bit as the goalie of the month. He was hot as a pistol and I had hoped that those 6 teams would have him in their heads. Sometimes that can make a difference. just felt he was already the hot goalie and even if he pitched a shutout tonight, he could not be any hotter. But if WMU lit him up for any reason (and our poor defensive play can lead to that as it did last night) then he is now human again. I really believe that teams think a little like that. but then again it is only my 2¢ and although I played this game and coached a bit, it was never at this kind of level. Just like to think about the psychology of it all.

Well not much help coming from Princeton as they now trail Yale 3-1. Would really not mind getting them or SLU in the first round.

You're doing just fine Waite21. I agreed with you that Savory should go to stay fresh. Savory has great mental fortitude. This isn't great for his confidence, but he will rebound; he always has over his 2 seasons here

Yale now over Princeton 4-1 so again, no help. Try this one on - Brown of QU 2-0!!

WMU penalty -need this one badly. have to get one and avoid a short handed goal against at all cost
