RPI vs. WMU, Shillelagh Tournament, 12/27/15

Re: RPI vs. WMU, Shillelagh Tournament, 12/27/15

If we hold on and win-do we play the late game tomorrow? And who do we prefer to play? personally i would like to go against ND as we see Harvard twice soon anyway.

Period ends with RPI up 3-1 and we start the third with a power play.

Lets play a smarter period and eliminate the dumb penalties.
I would love to blame the officials, but I had my arm up before they did on those calls.

5 on 5 we handle this team easily. They will only hurt us if they take advantage of turnovers (which we are quite good at giving them). Defense has to stop this tendency to turn back with the puck. if you cannot carry it out then you have to throw it out with some effort and force and not risk WMU getting to the puck in our own zone. Make them skate the entire rink to bring it up as they seem to have difficulty with our fore checking

In a very far away game, Brown really put the Shillelagh to Colgate today. Lowell beat Northeastern and continues to look like one of the best teams

Doc, over the years, I have been frustrated by the teams lack of ability to get the puck out of our own zone. Going as far as a foot or two from the blue line with an easy clear, only to bring it back into our zone. Just get it out.

We only play the late game tomorrow if ND wins also. They are playing the late game no matter what.

Whoever we can defeat! :) Actually one consideration might be that we are currently 2-1 vs. Hockey East so that may help our comparisons against some of those teams. That being the case a loss to Notre Dame would put us at .500. So I would probably prefer Harvard. What are the rules for the final if it is tied after a 5 minute OT? (hope I didn't just jinx us)

It's a shootout. Let's not let it come to that.
