RPI vs. Union (Mayor's Cup) Saturday, 1/23/2016

Re: RPI vs. Union (Mayor's Cup) Saturday, 1/23/2016

I hope they do not look ahead to the next ten games. There is only one game they can influence tonight. The fact that it is not an ECAC contest does not lessen its importance as it will affect our RPI by about .0100 (difference between a win or a loss). With RPI being so important a factor in the PWR calculation one should not take any game lightly by sending out anyone but the best lineup.

For anyone interested, it is still snowing on Long Island. I currently have about 20" with four foot drifts in my driveway.

Not a good day for the fire alarms to go off here. And of course now that they found it is apparently nothing they person who can turn them off can't get here.

Not sure if this helps us but Colgate scored first against Dartmouth and Harvard scored first at Cornell.

Who cares if they score first, we need them ahead at the end. I'd imagine Colgate beating Dartmouth would help RPI alot more than Harvard-Cornell.

Of course it is the final score that is important, but the team scoring first usually wins the game more often than not.

The guys have discussed the performance of RPI in the third periods this year. I know we have given up more goals in the third period than the other 2 periods and OT combined. We are the only team in the ECAC with that statistic but not sure if we are the only one in the nation
