Our band is the greatest. I will never forget when they travelled to a women's road game where we won an upset and the Pep Band formed a line outside the rink serenading the team as they boarded the bus. Good memories.

We are temporarily #16 PWR but will fall to #17 as soon as the Minnesota game goes final (they are up 5-2 after 2 periods so I am assuming a win for them).

Some of the best memories of my life were @ RPI and with the band. Met my wife because of America's Pep Band.

As we mentioned, we do not get much help from others. We just have to keep raising our rpi and get the best position possible in the ECAC for the playoffs. i am by no means an expert on this PWR thing and still think there has to be a better way to rank teams (how does Nebraska Omaha get ranked so high when they are getting killed in their league play? They have a strong out of conference record but most of those games are against nobody special) I suspect how you schedule is probably almost as important as how well you play.

Wasn't that during Spring break 2009, and then promptly went back to Dartmouth for a men's playoff game? Year after I graduated. Pep band was good times.

Did you or your wife play with the band as well? What years?
 
With UNO, PSU and Cornell losing, they have to be dropping in RatingsPI. Just keep winning (All we can do) and hope others keep losing.

Common opponents is also a factor. If RPI plays a team and ties, and then a team (ie, Notre Dame) plays that same team and wins, then Notre Dame is going to have a higher RPI than RPI.

No, my daughter graduated in '07. But I suspect that the Pep Band has done that sort of thing numerous times.

RPI wants PSU to keep losing in order to flip that comparison, I don't think the comparison against Omaha can be flipped, but them losing wouldn't hurt either. Of course, don't take this as gospel, as there are posters much, much, much more versed in this than I am.

Like Dr. D I get a little lost in the machinations of the selection process for the 16. I always figure that the best thing is to focus on winning the ECAC tournament.:)
