THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!

Brandon Pirri wins the game!

And my undefeated streak of post starting stays intact!

Re: RPI vs. SHU - 10/23/09

Pirri is worth the price of admission and saves the day for RPI. But still overall this was a disappointing performance for us. This is a game that once we went up 3-1 we should have just sealed the deal. Makes me very nervous that this team has a lot of work to do. But after all is said and done-it is a win and the last 3 years we did not get many of those.

True enough, it was a win.

But it was the type of win that should serve as another reminder to our guys – as if they haven’t had enough such reminders over the last several years – that they cannot afford to adopt a complacent attitude and assume things are going to be easy. Not in any period of any game against any opponent.

Re: RPI vs. SHU - 10/23/09

That was the most unsatifying win I have experienced as an Engineer fan.
We had them, and we let them back in. This is not Alaska, or UNH. this is Sacred Heart. We took stupid penalties in the third period, our defense broke down, and they pounded us into the ice.
I can't tell you how many of our players went limping to the bench in the third period. And no response from us.
A win is a win, but we have a long way to go if we are going to compete in the ECACHL.:(

Re: RPI vs. SHU - 10/23/09

RPI plays a miserable third period and turns what seemed like an easy possible win into a struggle. And now we go to OT

DrD & EHF have put their finger on it tonight. When we enter the third period with a lead, we often go into this
defensive shell, playing tentative offense. Sit back and take penalties.

A couple of them were legit - the one at the end of the 2nd period, Cullen's first one, and D'Amigo's, which was a retaliation penalty. That was three more than they'd taken earlier in the game. The rest for the most part were complete trash.

I don't get how Alex Dell can stare at D'Amigo taking a knee-to-knee and then hobbling off the ice and call nothing.

Third period was an absolute joke.

Re: RPI vs. SHU - 10/23/09

Appert, in the pregame, chalked up Pirri's penalty that caused the alaska goal, to immaturity...same can be said for D'Amigo's penalty

RC has already said it, but the knee-on-knee hit on D'Amigo was as cheap as it gets. Fights have broken out in the NHL on hits like that, and then D'Amigo got hit low again after that on a hip check to which he retaliated and then was booked for. Just bogus crap (again) from the forever inconsistent and terrible Alex Dell.

Things may not go as calmly in Schenectady tomorrow as Union is more the type to return chippy play in kind. Keep an eye on those box scores and updates cause it could get nasty.

Re: RPI vs. SHU - 10/23/09

i do not remember that game ,geez....that was a very busy year i think

twice in OT..are we getting better? or are they

We're getting better, the previous two time (2005 and 2006) we lost. The first of which Douglas "Bear" Trapp (to which the crowd decided to chide that night) had the GWG in OT.
