RPI vs Army 10/31/09

rpihockeyfan13

LET'S GO RED!!!!
RPI goes for another weekend sweep by facing Army tonight. A good hard fought win last night vs Union and it shows that this team has improved a lot since past years. I think Apperty will go with Merriam again in net for this Saturday game and get him some more time between the pipes. Hopefully there is no let down from the Union game and the Engineers come out fast and score early. LET'S GO RED!!!!!

Re: RPI vs Army 10/31/09

This is not just another game-it is a chance to build momentum for the opening of the league season. I think SA plays York in goal again and I dont think he is taking Army (or anyone else for that matter) lightly. I think he has had enough of losing the past 3 seasons and now wants to have a lot more wins under his belt. If we can win tonight we may crack the top 20 in the polls after the weekend.

DrD, agreed on the goalie situation. I can't imagine that I'm the only one of us who is dead tired of platooning goalie syndrome.

Granted once in a while you want to give your #1 the night off, but I also agree that York will be in. Gotta get him ready for the big show starting next week.

Merriam in net for the Engineers. Lineup looks the same as last night, Halpern in for Helfrich.

Re: RPI vs Army 10/31/09

Color me surprised a bit. I would like to see York get more work before the league schedule starts.

I am not so surprised. This is the last chance to get Merriam into a game before Thanksgiving. Now if something happens to York, you have a little more experienced goalie coming to the rescue.
Not a bad move at all.

Re: RPI vs Army 10/31/09

merriam looked very good last time out. parts of his game are very good. (position) this is not a team that should pose a major threat unless red plays down again...

1-0 Rpi
