RPI & Union @ SLU & Clarkson (2/6, 2/7)

Re: RPI & Union @ SLU & Clarkson (2/6, 2/7)

Are you referring to the 7-6 OT win by RPI? If so, I was at that game and remember it very well. What a weird/wild game that one was!!!
I was sitting in the Times Union Center watching the Albany Devils while listening to that game on the radio (ear set). People thought I was a loon screaming and cheering those last couple of minutes & the OT. We sure could use another Polacek.

I was having similar reactions but for quite the opposite reasons! :o

Sounds good to me! :)

After tonight's HUGE win over Clarkson we will be looking to continue our momentum at home against RPI and Union ... It won't be easy as it never is in this league, but you have to like our chances with the way we have been playing lately. It should be two competitive hard fought games. I will be there for Saturday, I hope I don't curse them as I usually tend to do! ;):o

I wish you have been at this past Saturday's game - though I think even your jinx wouldn't have helped

We had one, but he got signed by the Rangers. (Though Haggerty was a winger, not a center, and thus had fewer assists than Chase)

Re: RPI & Union @ SLU & Clarkson (2/6, 2/7)

Unless I somehow get cleared by the doctor tomorrow, I will be bringing my '14-'15 unbeaten streak to Appletown. 5-0-1... And counting ;)

So, if I'm reading this right, you're saying that if the doctor doesn't clear you, you'll be at the game, but if he clears you, you'll stay away.

Well, if your presence has been that much of a good luck charm for the Saints, then on behalf of RPI fans, let me express my very best wishes for the doctor to give you a clean bill of health. :D

Well, we both win!

Given pretty much a clean bill of health and healing well, however I will still be up here in the NoCo for the weekend. ;)

Re: RPI & Union @ SLU & Clarkson (2/6, 2/7)

I'm wary........Union in particular and RPI to a lesser extent are Jeckyll and Hyde. Very hard to predict what you will get and which team will show up. We are on a roll but I still don't think we've established Appleton with as big of a home ice advantage as we could. Particularly early.....we were far better on the road.

Always very hard to predict any ECAC tilt let alone one's where the teams are fairly equal.

Jekyll & Hyde is being polite. Union beats teams that they shouldn't and loses to teams they should beat. Every now & then, they'll play a game that we'd expect them to play, but that's rare.

I have no idea what to expect of them this weekend. This is ALWAYS a tough trip for anyone to make, especially when Clarkson & SLU are playing well.

+1
At this point, I'd say our inconsistency is our main strength !! :p

Snow showers are in the forecast, as a warning to anyone looking to go.

Depending on how good/bad, jericho may really enjoy the SLU game here in the forums. :p

For any RPI/Union fans making the trip up, there will be atleast a few of us gathering at the Hoot before the SLU games. Usually arrive in the 5-530 area. Feel free to make it an added stop!

Given the time I usually get up there, I think I'll pass on that. May see you at the game, though. I'll be where I belong. ;)

The bad news is that we do not do well against tough forechecking or for that matter backchecking teams. We are much more successful in "run and gun" matchups. The good news is that Ken Schott of the Schenectady Gazette has picked us to lose both games, as has everyone else. :)
