RPI @ Union, Saturday 1/14/12

Re: RPI @ Union, Saturday 1/14/12

Worst in the league. I haven't been to all the Hockey East rinks yet but given the caliber of schools that I haven't seen - BC and Maine - I don't think I'm going out on a limb to say it's the worst in the East outside of the dredges of Atlantic Hockey.

The sight lines from the upper levels are pathetic, and the ice is always visibly awful. I'd wager $20 that Union plays on better ice tomorrow than they will on Saturday.

Would you say that it is the 26th best rink in the east? ;)

Even Northford had decent sight lines!

Dumass obviously Ficks' stand-in.

We can probably expect the dude from Rochester next year; he seems to be on a two-year cycle for that game. (Too bad the ECAC website doesn't list the mice anymore, I could give you a link to source that info)

Man, it's too bad that there's not another website that lists the box scores of college hockey games.

01/13/07 (Hansen)
01/18/08 (O'Brien)
02/07/09 (Hicks, McDonald)
01/16/10 (J. Murphy, D. Murphy)
11/12/10 (Hicks, Wahl)

If any RPI fans are looking for an additional ticket for tonight's game, I have one spare in the visitor's section. $11 (face value). Planning on getting to the rink right around or just after 6:00.

Which two Atlantic rinks are worse? ;)

There can be no way that the place is better than the home of Sacred Heart, The Milford Ice Pavilion. I live one town away, and my hometowns high school rink is nicer. Kudos to SHU for scheduling a few games at Bridgeport Harbor Yard.

Come on RPI fans, why the hate for our rink and the Messa Maniacs? We're friendly.

Messa... Maniacs?

Heh. Good one. That brightened my morning.

What would these "manics" do without RPI fans to start their cheers for them? My favorite one was "(pause) (pause) U!"

At least this year they figured out how to actually hi-jack a cheer. Last year, it sounded like "(pause) (pause) (pause) U!"

Re: RPI @ Union, Saturday 1/14/12

I can't think of many people that are less funny than Jeff Dunham, not to take anything away from the bash-fest going on here.

I got this negative rep comment for the previous post: "Not that you possibly could take anything away, since it's all true."

Did I defend the facility? I said it was a bash-fest, not that it anyone was incorrect or unwarranted in their feelings about the building. What a petty childish response. Don't be so sensitive! And btw, complaints about the sight lines at Messa do seem a little silly, considering the steel beams obstructing the view of many seats in HFH.
