RPI & Union @ Quinnipiac & Princeton (1/11, 1/12)

Re: RPI & Union @ Quinnipiac & Princeton (1/11, 1/12)

s Once again Dude, who regularly complains about travel expense from CNY to Troy, is again going on a long road trip. :p OH, the irony. Good effort if you get there Dude. I too am working on an informal "touch 'em all" campaign of ECAC and eventually, D1 rinks. Crossed off Gutterson earlier this year. If I had my act together, I'd make Doc buy me dinner at Princeton, and I could take the southern ECAC component off my list. :D

Just once you have to experience Baker rink. It is old and it is small and it is a relic. But it is a throwback to old time ECAC hockey. BTW there is a pretty good McDonalds not far away.;)

What makes one McDonald's better than another?

What makes one McDonald's better than another?

1) Staff
2) Clientele
3) Location

(everything on their Dollar Menu in midtown Manhattan is $1.50  their staff is good at least.)

I finally got to Baker back in December and really loved the place. It is an old relic but in a nice way. Very quaint and homey feeling. I'd love to be there when the place is sold out because it must be insane.

FWIW, I did not think it was any colder than any other rink I've been in. I was prepared for it but actually took a layer or two off.

Well aside from staff and clientele, I read in the business news today that Chicagoland area MacDaddy's will be testing chicken wings as a menu item....Now if they only served McMolson's to wash them down with, they just might gain me as a customer. :D

I always hunted for the ones that served the McRibs sandwich.

Ever had a McBeer in Germany?

Of course, I wouldn't mind one that had a McBubbleTea...

It can be insane-what they really need though is a much better PA system. it is almost impossible to discern anything that is said. My experience has been they sell many more seats for Harvard and Cornell and of course when they are challenging for a top spot in the league.

RPI injury update: Kasdorf works out; Schroeder's season could be over (updates with video)

Injured RPI freshman goalie Jason Kasdorf got a little work in prior to the team's practice Wednesday at Houston Field House. Meanwhile, the Engineers are considering a medical redshirt for sophomore forward Zach Schroeder. .... Also: Neal (neck) coming along , Hampton (back) out, Marty O (unspecified?) is a coin flip. UGGH

EDIT: Having played 9 games, I'm not sure Schroeder qualifies for a med. redshirt. I always understood the cutoff to be 6 games??? But it seems as if Appert was indicating there might be wiggle room with this and the NCAA... dunno.

With two days to go-hopefully Kasdorf will feel no problems after the workout. With shoulders normally if it is going to hurt or be a problem, the signs are there pretty quickly. Schroeder will be sorely missed. It did seem that his injury was of some severity and we should have expected that if he was nto back within a few eeks that it could be the entire season. I suspect Neal will be back (unless this neck problem is a disk). My experience is that neck problems do not have any middle ground. They are either minor muscular things (strains, sprains) and respond to physical modalities like heat, ice, mild exercise, medications, etc. or they are skeletal and disk related. None of these are easy-a cervical radiculopathy can be a few weeks or months of trouble from nerve compression and can cause a lot of flexibility and strength loss. Oddly these can occur at any age and do not have to necessarily be from an injury. I am sure he is in the best hands and from what I have seen over the past years-SA takes no chances with his boys. Hampton-have no clue since we are given no information as to what the back problem is. Similar with Marty O'Grady. If Neal and kasdorf can go-it would be obviously a very big plus. Tough weekend ahe4ad even with them-but without them it becomes a bit more trying.

This thread hasn't exactly been inundated with posts from Union fans (or Princeton fans) as yet, but in case any of them are interested, Friday night's game at Princeton is scheduled to be televised by NBC Sports Network.

Jen and i were handed tickets to the Friday game late yesterday. Not sure if we will go-or give them to some friends. I knew the game was televised-but hockey for us is just so much better live. The problem may be the weather-no snow, but fairly bad rain storm coming in Friday may enter into the decision.

Are there any Princeton fans here? :)

When I went online to get tickets for Saturday, 3, the best seats, together, the computer kept giving me was for sec 203. Do you think this means the game is almost sold out?
