Re: RPI Tailgate Party

Show Time is really 'loosey goosey'...I posted on the Off Season Thread too: I plan on showing up at NLT 3pm. As I recall, last year it was Aspy and I standing around for a short while and folks started streaming in around 4pm. There can be no head count determined on this thread so assume you're jsut showing up at a party and bringing something. One thing I'd really like to assign to someone...the very first person to respond gets the job: can someone bring name tags and a marker for ID purposes (YES! You MUST provide ID to tailgate or you'll be considered an illegal fan!!! ;) ) Bring 50 (I'm ambition in my optimism:eek:). Oh, and Dr. D...tell the truth to your previously arranged engagement and GET YOUR A** to HFH! Gonna' be a good time, boys and girls!
As opposed to last year where I didn't arrive until the women's game was over, and assuming that the plane arrives on time and there is no snow, I will probably be in my usual mode of being there ridiculously early.

Are you renting a vehicle, checking your bike, or do I need to pick you up at the airport? It's on my way there.

Re: RPI Tailgate Party

Now that we're getting fairly close to this event, perhaps we should figure out who's bringing what. Here's what we have so far:

Wicked Slappaahs - variety of grilled/smoked meats
Ralph Baer - halloween candies
REDaero91 - desserts
RKarger - desserts
FlagDUDE08 - name tags and a sharpie (babo, I'll grab these)

Looks like we need beverages (with red solo cups of course, I have the sharpie covered), probably some starches, salads, plates, utensils, things along those lines.

It will be tough for me to bring something right from work so I could be counted on for a few bags of ice if needed that day. If not, I am most likely bringing something from Bella Napoli.

Re: RPI Tailgate Party

Current Accuweather forecast for Troy on 10/12 is rain with a low and high of 32 and 51, respectively.

Re: RPI Tailgate Party

Hahaha! Thanks FD for your efforts but this is going to be more like herding cats...there's no way to know how much food will arrive nor what others outside our posting group will bring...just bring what you think 10-20 folks in your field of vision would enjoy. I don't want to make this so scientific that we have assignments (not the intention of getting everyone together). Hopefully we just have a nice gathering of folks dedicated to RPI Hockey...those who cannot bring anything PLEASE don't fret! :)

Re: RPI Tailgate Party

I figured I cant go wrong with ice. If it doesnt get used by us, Im sure some poor college kid would accept it to keep his or her "sodas" cold. You know for those late night weekend study sessions.

Just remember...the temp will be quite low (not to mention the Zamboni ice will be mere feet away!) :p

Re: RPI Tailgate Party

In case any travellers are going to be staying for Saturday's game as well, it looks like men's soccer will be playing Clarkson (SUCKS!) at 2pm up at ECAV. I'm probably the only one that would pick this over American football, but that's the way the cookie crumbles. Soccer games rarely go over 2 hours (even with stoppage time), so enough time to hit the Notty before Saturday's game.

To the best of my recollection, the only time that I ever saw part of an RPI soccer game was once in my undergrad years when a postseason game was played on the '86 Field and one couldn't help but watch it when walking between classes. (I saw many lacrosse games in that fashion, but I also attended some on purpose.)
