RPI '11 Go Red!
The Engineers head down the road to St. Lawrence to take on the Saints.

SLU handled Union last night, but will face a full-strength RPI squad.

Let's go Red!

Re: RPI @ SLU (Feb 1, 2014)

I would guess there are 4 boys in particular who are very ready to jump over the boards by now. SA might already be pacing behind the bench if we checked. Tonight will have to play smart-cannot afford penalties against this SLU team. Last night playing 13 minutes short handed versus 2 minutes for CCT may have made a very large impact on the game.

Re: RPI @ SLU (Feb 1, 2014)

If this wasn't the ECAC, I would say that tonight's game would be a blow out. We have four of our most important players coming back, two on offense and two on defense. They should be ready to lead this team to its best performance of the year.
However, this is the ECAC and you can't predict anything. I look for a very high paced game by the Engineers with lots of hitting and offense.
I don't know how good the SLU goalie is, but I expect him to be tested early and often.
If that doesn't happen, I will have to totally reevaluate this team.

lets go red!!!!!!

Normally would agree with you-as I usually do-but I really do fear the SLU power play unit and I really am a bit concerned about our taking(or being given) unnecessary penalties. Not sure how the officials will call this one-and I really hope that the ECAC has not tried to make a bigger issue out of the RPI/Union game. I am also not so sure we can get enough consistent offensive pressure to truly test the SLU defense or goalie. Early in the year we were scoring and playing far better offense than we have in the past few weeks. This game may well tell us what the following 8 league games will be like.

For anyone interested in following the women's team RPITV carries today's game live at 4 pm. Good opportunity to see if they can compete with the #4 Clarkson team.

I think it'll be single camera, no graphics. The "A-Rig" is at the ECAV Arena covering Men's and Women's basketball (live now). But who knows, maybe there have been some technical developments!

Re: RPI @ SLU (Feb 1, 2014)

tug hill?

That's the area between Syracuse and Watertown, pretty much anything due west of the Adirondack Park. Obviously that only consists of half the trip, as you have to go northeast of Watertown as well, but because of the effects of Lake Ontario and the lack of mountains in the way, the weather characteristics between Watertown and Canton are very similar.

Re: RPI @ SLU (Feb 1, 2014)

Women Engineers go up 1-0 on Clarkson, goal by Huhtamaki. Piper, who played the third period in net yesterday, gets the start today.

Re: RPI @ SLU (Feb 1, 2014)

The women are tied 1-1 with Clarkson after one period. Game is very even when 5 on 5, but RPI played 8 minutes shorthanded, so shots are 21-8 Clarkson. Piper solid in net.

I don't normally follow the women's hockey games-but I tuned in for a bit. I have no previous comparison but this Clarkson team looks pretty darn good to me.

Yes, they are strong. Rattray is one of the best in women's hockey, but the whole team is fast and physical (by womens hockey standards). RPI seems to be getting worn down by the amount of time spent on PK. Clarkson leads 4-1, with three PPGs, after 2 periods. Clarkson should go to the final 4 this year.

Re: RPI @ SLU (Feb 1, 2014)

Did others think that the sound on the RPI-TV feed of the women's game was too low?
