As far as numbers, we didn't seem to need another dman. We are only losing Russell and Matta who doesn't play. I wonder if others won't be returning. Maybe Matthews isn't coming this year. Maybe the Jovanovic experiment isn't working. Maybe ...

There's no way Matthews is coming this fall. I expect at least 2 of Ozolins, VanDamme, Goffredo, Lemieux, and Jovanovic will leave. As already said, I think the younger guys are more likely to be back.

I wouldn't be surprised to see some of the current "starters" not be back (Ozolins, VanDamme, Goffredo). Obv Russell gone already. Lemieux, Hilditch, and Jovo are young and projects, I think he keeps trying to develop them. Going to be a young group if my theory holds.

Young in the sense that we’ll probably have a lot of freshman and sophomores, but all 3 recent defense commits have at least 4 years in major junior. Two will have had 5 full seasons. These are arguably the most experienced players we’ve ever recruited.

Great point, these CHL kids play a lot of games in a season, and also more seasons in their league. I think Guo has 250 games in the OHL.
