RPI Recruit Thread 2024-2025

Depending on your definition both are correct. His father, former NHL player and current QMJHL coach Gordie Dwyer, was playing in Sweden when Ryan was born. He then grew up in the Maritimes after his dad retired.
Exactly. I usually use whatever his team or league has.

He was born on 1/2/07 which means he shares a birthdate with me (a few years off) and won't do much at RPI. Two previous players were Mauro DiPaolo and Jason Fortino. A third, I forget who, never showed up.
RB, What heritage would you say the name Chemrouk is ? Will we need to add a flag to HFH ? LOL
SC's roster link.

Do we think he'll do any time with Baie-Comeau before landing in Troy ?
We have our answer !

Anyone think that Dave is doing a Hail Mary as a last hope to turn things around? These guys look like players that would get a lot of attention at 19,20 or even 21. Might we be promising to bring them in early to get them on board? It would be similar to what Seth did - seeing a pretty depleted roster when he came on board he brought in guys like Polacek, Bergdoerfer, Foss and Brutlag more or less straight from high school (some got in a few late season junior games after HS season ended but not a full schedule). All would probably have been tougher signs if he’d waited another year. Could that be the plan with these latest recruits, especially since those few games could be against major junior competition? It worked pretty well for Seth. Can it work in the transfer portal era?

I had the same thought about Sullivan a year ago.

I am pretty sure that I saw somewhere that he is Algerian, but as opposed to Dwyer, I have only seen Canada.

He is named Kamyl 🐫. ;)
What I saw is his tournament stats on his Elite Hockey page. https://www.eliteprospects.com/player/877158/kamyl-chemrouk

Also see https://nationalteamsoficehockey.com/algeria/

I doubt that playing on the Algerian National team is too meaningful. The goalie is probably his brother.

With regards to playing Jr B someplace. I feel it`s a tricky and sometimes telling proposition. On one hand the better competition helps in most cases, get them ready to be impactful Freshmen. on the other hand serious injury is always a concern. I feel the worst sign in development is when a kid committs and 3 years latter he is still banging around in Juniors.

Added 2 women's recruits: Bjergstad and Fisher.

# Known to have signed National Letter of Intent
The years the recruits are listed as arriving at RPI are not necessarily accurate.
The dates on which some of the women are listed as committing on may be considerably after the actual dates.
"Hometown" is sometimes where the player was born and sometimes where he or she currently lives.
I am assuming that Neutral Zone regards their Star ratings as public because they often tweet them with committals.

STRENGTHS according to Neutral Zone (NZ rarely includes them for women):
Aw=Awareness/IQ, Ch=Character/Leadership, GS=Goal Scoring Ability, Sk=Skating, Sp=Speed, SH=Stick Handling Skill,
St-Strength, To=Toughness, Vi=Vision/Passing

I am almost certain that the QMJHL is JrA, the level which until recently was off limits for the NCAA. It is usually considered as not as good as the OHL and WHL, but still Tier I.
