RPI Recruit Thread 2023-24

On Saturday, the Okotoks Oilers lost to the Brooks Bandits in a preseason game 4-0. Jagger Tapper did not dress. Brody Maguire did not dress.. Dylan Lariviere had an assist (PPA). https://www.ajhl.ca/stats/game-summary/17126

Tapper's preseason line is now 3-0-2-2-2.
Maguire's preseason line is now 3-0-2-2-2.
Lariviere's preseason line is now 2-0-2-2-15.

On Saturday, the West Kelowna Warriors defeated the Merritt Centennials in a preseason game 5-2. Felix Caron had an assist. Landen Hilditch did not dress. Jackson Kyrkostas scored a goal. https://bchl.ca/stats/game-center/12473

Caron's preseason line is now 1-0-1-1-0.
Hilditch's preseason line is 0-0-0-0-0.
Kyrkostas's preseason line is 2-3-0-3-0.

Don't ruin the almost child-like faith we have in Ralph's work. He may have made errors in the past but none of us were following so many games closely enough to know. We accepted it as part of the RPI hockey gospel.

The summary does not give the goal to JK https://bchl.ca/stats/game-center/12473, but he was given the #2 Star in the box score. :-D

The dates on which some of the women are listed as committing on may be considerably after the actual dates.
I am assuming that Neutral Zone regards their Star ratings as public because they often tweet them with committals.

STRENGTHS according to Neutral Zone (NZ doesn't include them for women):
Aw=Awareness/IQ, Ch=Character/Leadership, GS=Goal Scoring Ability, Sk=Skating, Sp=Speed, SH=Stick Handling Skill,
St-Strength, To=Toughness, Vi=Vision/Passing

I was surprised that Landen Hilditch played in neither of West Kelowna's games over the weekend. He is on their roster https://bchl.ca/stats/roster/19 so it isn't that he is traded. Perhaps he is injured or they felt they knew all about him. Hopefully, he will play next weekend.

It certainly makes sense if Watson has a bounce back year, Cherepak continues developing and they both return for '24-'25. If any of that doesn't happen I would think '24 is definitely possible. Oh the joys for coaches trying to project future rosters and recruiting needs. Throw in the extra complication of the portal (in and out) and it seems damn near impossible to be sure of anything.
