It is indeed great to see that we won't be the RPI Managers when Babich and Caron arrive.

I hope that Caron is half as good as the last Aero from Quebec. (I think Juneau was the last one.)

I am assuming that Neutral Zone regards their Star ratings as public because they often tweet them with committals.

I think that if we show improvement, we can sell players on remaining with us. Smith has taken a first step by improving our OOC schedule, Now we have to win significantly more games. That won't be easy, but on paper we do look better than last season.

We already lost Kyrkostas' teammate at KUA in 21-22, Kareem Al-Azem, of course that was to a D-III school where he would not have to spend a year or more in Juniors before starting college.

They really only need to make it 4 more months until November, and then, they can get those guys signed to NLIs

we need to win more. The ooc schedule is a tough one but I’d rather them play elite teams than Atlantic hockey teams. I agree doc on paper we do look better. Comes down to Watson and if he bounces back. Recruiting has picked up for us I really hope we keep the elite guys. Smith seems to be turning a corner with that.

I know it's naive, but I'm optimistic that there are players out there that actually take making a commitment seriously. I also hope and believe that our coaches can sell the value of an RPI education to players that actually want it. Kyrkostas and Shaw look like excellent prospects and I'm very happy that they are planning to play in Troy. I also believe RPI and the ECAC are worthy of such players and that our staff/league can develop them into future pros while our school develops their business or technical skills. Of course there will be a top tier of pro prospects (draftees at 18, potential one and done guys, national development team players, etc.) that are destined for the big boys, but potential mid-to-late round 19 and 20 year old picks and future free agent signees shouldn't be out of reach for the ECAC or RPI. Jackson has been eligible for two NHL drafts and Ryan one and I don't remember seeing either one high on the scouting lists. I'm hoping they are a good model for the future, along with players like Muzzatti, Smolinski and Hotson - very good players just on or below the NHL radar that we can develop into excellent college players and some real pro prospects (note: not ECHL players - most every regular D1 player could probably play in the ECHL - but AHL players and some to the NHL). It's my dream for returning RPI to where we should be in the college hockey hierarchy.

The transfer portal is permanent. This rising senior class is the last one that can take advantage of a COVID bonus year so the number of grad transfers may decline, but, in general, increased movement is with us to stay.
