The years the men's recruits are listed as committed for are not necessarily accurate.
The dates on which some of the women are listed as committing on may be considerably after the actual dates.
I am assuming that Neutral Zone regards their Star ratings as public because they often tweet them with committals.

STRENGTHS according to Neutral Zone (NZ doesn't include them for women):
Aw=Awareness/IQ, Ch= Character/Leadership, GS=Goal Scoring Ability, Sk=Skating, Sp=Speed, SH=Stick Handling Skill,
St-Strength, To=Toughness, Vi=Vision/Passing

Ralph- Shane Sellar from Dartmouth is said to be in the space/time continuum transfer portal :D ...do we have any roster room for a BIG bodied Doc D size forward next year ? Might be nice to have him to wreak havoc in the offensive zone... He sat out this year with a medical redshirt.

Wicked: He is certainly my prototype forward at about 6'3" and over 200 pounds but does he only have one year left of eligibility? And I am not sure of his medical status. Is he coming back at 100%?

Only one year, He might work until Brown comes a year later. Personally, I am not too interested in one-and-done players.

But Smith seems to like 1.5 year players, and this isn't that different.

Edit: He isn't much of an offensive threat, only 94-16-24-40 in 3 years.

Yes one year. My guess he'll be healed up for the fall, or he wouldn't be trying to transfer out to play elsewhere. Don't worry, I'm sure we won't get him...:D

Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2019-20 (Part II)

it appears Coach Smith is actually getting some boys with size. When i compare our recruit list against many other schools we seem to do favorably as to height and weight. Now, don't get me wrong, size is never the only thing. But all other things being equal (talent scoring aggressiveness coachability) as you know well, I am a firm believer in Newton's third law of motion.

perhaps not a tremendous set of statistics but I believe it is still far more than any Junior on our current roster and in fact, more than almost all senior forwards with a few exceptions.

Agreed, plus by sheer mass and determination, he can open ice for his linemates...and probably makes for a mean screen as well... :D I seem to recall him doing some damage against RPI...

Some just do not understand that the score sheet does not show everything. it cannot show what you just described and it cannot show what speed can do to back up an opponent or make them respect a quick break out against them. We have had players over the many years i have followed who are not the top scorers by any means but who have contributed greatly.

Well, we only have one junior who is not a goalie.

Of course it isn't everything, but we will need scoring with this year's seniors all leaving.

Aw=Awareness/IQ, Ch= Character/Leadership, GS=Goal Scoring Ability, Sk=Skating, Sp=Speed, SH=Stick Handling Skill,
St-Strength, To=Toughness, Vi=Vision/Passing

Well, it was mainly Stevenson, but ...

Wally Forslund Trophy – Best Goaltending Duo (GAA): CLAY STEVENSON & JACK WATSON
While goals against average is a team stat as a whole, both Clay Stevenson and Jack Watson led the way for the Express en route to a league low goals against total of 127. Thomas Wardle and Joe Howe each played in a handful of games for the Express as well, but Stevenson’s 35 appearances, and Watson’s 17, qualify them for the Wally Forslund Trophy. Clay surrendered only 61 goals in over 2000 minutes played. Watson was no slouch himself. He ended the season with 41 goals against, good for a very respectable 2.51 GAA, which ranks him 7th in the BCHL among goalies with at least 15 appearances.

Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2019-20 (Part II)

But Smith seems to like 1.5 year players, and this isn't that different.

Edit: He isn't much of an offensive threat, only 94-16-24-40 in 3 years.

Do we have transfers coming in this year, though? I would have guessed that, because Coach Smith wanted his players, he used the transfers to "fill in the gaps" while he either cut players, or helped them to grad transfer.
