On Tuesday, the Victoria Grizzlies defeated the West Kelowna Warriors 5-4.(1-0) in a shootout. Henri Schreifels had a goal (PPG) and an assist (PPA). He missed a shootout shot. He was named the #1 star. :) https://bchl.ca/stats/game-summary/9587

Schreifels line is now 47-21-18-39-46.

Gagnon's scoring seemed to taper off after he won a scholarship, but Schreifels' scoring touch blossomed once he committed. Let's hope we got a late bloomer before others picked up on him.

I had the same thought. Conceivably Gagnon is playing injured. Either that or the league figured Gagnon out after a while. I had already been tapering off before he committed.

This was Brooks’ first regular season home loss since 2/24/18. (53 straight wins) :eek:

Reid Leibold has been chosen to play on the Selects Blue team in the NAHL Top Prospects Tourney 2/17 - 2/18. https://www.nahl.com/news/story.cfm?id=28840

Note that the Red and Blue teams are NHL draft eligible players, while the other four teams are players who have not yet committed to college.

In a strange way, I hope you are right. However, another possible explanation for missing the game is that he is on his way to Troy for an official visit over Freakout weekend. I have no evidence that's the case, but he wouldn't be the first player to accept a scholarship offer and then do his official. He spent 3 years at the Millbrook School (near Poughkeepsie) and played regularly against teams like Albany Academy and Hoosac. It wouldn't surprise me if he'd already been to the campus and Field House for either a prep school game or unofficial visit (perhaps while traveling between Millbrook and his Montreal area home) so he accepted the offer and put off the official until a better time.

P.S. It just occurred to me that we may have another product of Jake's hometown, Pointe Claire, QC, at Saturday's game. That was the home of Bryan Richardson, who was the leading scorer on the '95 ECAC championship team that will be honored at the Freakout.
