I am concerned about Sarlo and to a lesser degree Herrman about their status in the USHL. Neither is on the injured list, but they wouldn't be put on if the injuries are of short duration. Herrman is a known quantity to Green bay, so that could be the reason that he has not been playing. OTOH if Sarlo is on the bubble, I would have expected him to have played more. He is still on the roster.

We'll see soon what cuts are made.

139th Overall (9th Round) - Max Itagaki - Forward

Last Team: Chicago Mission 15U

Bio: The 5-foot-5, 134-pound forward posted 10 goals and 16 assists for 26 points through 20 games last year, leading the HPHL in assists en route to a HPHL Championship. The Glenview, Ill. native participated in the USA Hockey Selects Development Camp.

Although a bit small now, we can all remember guys this size lighting it up in college. St. Louis, Gionta, etc. He does bring the average recruit size listed down a tad to just under 5'10: and 173.3 pounds but these kids could all get a bit bigger before they come to Troy. Actually, although I do like the bigger forwards, it is mostly the defense that I like to see average above 6' 2" and over 200 pounds.

I agree. As I wrote at the top of post 189, I am sure that we all do. Of course, when I wrote that, I realized that he is already taller than I am and only 16.

I can't post them, but his Neutral Zone evaluations all stress his ability to overcome his size.

And 16-year-olds (that or thereabout) usually have a couple inches left to go...

Obviously height does not determine if you're a good athlete, especially given some of the names you mentioned previously. And it's not like he's a D-man or centre so there isn't too much worry from a defending standpoint. Diamond in the rough, perhaps? I'd love to see how his ice vision is when out there in the attacking zone.

He was 15 and a few months at that time. He probably will grow a few inches, but I think 5'9" is a maximum.
