Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2017-18

Not too worried, as Mark Miller didn't light the lamp too many times, but did fairly well in that department when he was in college. Perhaps we'll end up seeing something similar?

One must also consider the unknown factor of how much scholarship money a given player is costing us. I expect more from someone on a full scholarship that a recruited walkon or someone on a small fraction of scholarship. Also this year is still pretty young.

Miller did get 11 goals his final year in the USHL. http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=74777

Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2017-18

Thanks. That surprises me since he had often been in the starting lineup.

I wonder where he will end up. Perhaps back in Surrey.

Surprises me too. He was looking good. Don't know about the import rules, but maybe wants to play a more offensive style. Hope he goes back to BC.

No assists either http://oaklandjuniorgrizzlies.point...land-junior-grizzlies-aaa/u16aaa-player-stats since the G, A, and P numbers are the same but one more game played.

I do remember they were also very late in the season. Either way, there's nothing wrong with having what could be a defensive forward.

Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2017-18

Brady Ferner has signed a National Letter of Intent.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Six Musketeers sign their National Letter of Intent. <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/MusketeerNation?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#MusketeerNation</a><br>STORY: <a href="https://t.co/8km2fithIn">https://t.co/8km2fithIn</a></p>— SiouxCity Musketeers (@Musketeerhockey) <a href="https://twitter.com/Musketeerhockey/status/928442068275466241?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">November 9, 2017</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

and from the article

The Musketeer captain Brady Ferner had to wait a bit longer for his offers to come through, but his hard work, dedication, and perseverance paid off with a commitment to RPI right before the start of the USHL preseason this year. Ferner cited the opportunity to be a part of new wave of RPI players and mentality as his biggest reason for choosing the Engineers. “When I went out there and visited they were in the process of creating a new culture with a new coach. Also, the opportunity to play Division I college hockey and get the education that RPI offers was something that I couldn’t pass up.”
