That's a loooooooong night for a keeper. Kid is a gamer.

Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2017-18 (Part II)

We'll see if he challenges Marshall. I would think that he will be given a chance, but he is playing Jr. B.

Jr. B but facing a lot of shots. Quality of shots is as important as quantity of shots. Jewell is supposed to know that position inside and out since he was a goaltender. Maybe this kid was overlooked simply because he played in this league. You would think he would have at least been playing in the OJHL since that is his backyard as well. But as they say "if you're good enough you will be found, no matter where you play". Let's hope that is the case with Savory

That certainly is possible. I have seen St. Catharines mention that several times. We will see what happens. FWIW, he has faced an average of 30.76 shots per 60 minutes for the regular season and playoffs combined.

FWIW2, Jewell was a D-III goalie. :D (Before someone jumps on me, that doesn't mean that he can't evaluate talent.)

FWIW3 a few D3 keepers have made some noise. Troy native Guy Hebert comes to mind ! (He truly was a D1 talent playing D3)

A lot of different things can be deceiving with recruits. I seem to recall we were worried about Kasdorf when he went to the USHL and played for a team that doesn't pay much attention to their own side of the red line. I have a feeling Savory's going to give Perry and Marshall a run for their money. Whether he starts will be known in about 6.5 months.

Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2017-18 (Part II)

Despite the fact that the home team is supposed to automatically qualify to play in the Midget National Tourney, Philadelphia (Mike Cameron) is not playing. https://nationals.usahockey.com/page/show/3821277-2018-youth-tier-i-16u. Washington (Leibold) is since they won their region. This means that Mike Cameron's season is over.

Edit: Reading the rule book http://ajhl.esportsdesk.com/leagues/hockey_boxscores.cfm?clientID=1705&leagueID=3464&gameID=1759162, it looks like it depends. :)
